" Everything is Distorted!"

I can't see very good. Everything is all distorted!!

I was told that I have a bad cable connector!

I knew this day would be coming as everything has looked distorted for some time now but it's getting worse. I had to go to the specialist.

Oh how I was dreading this trip. I was sure they would tell me there was nothing that could be done.

Everything I see looks like this...

All of your pretty faces, flowers and grandbabies, everything, looks funky, purple, pink and green. So I went for a check-up. 


Thank goodness the news wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It is just a faulty screen cable connector in my computer screen.


BIG SIGH OF RELIEF!!!!


So I will take it in tomorrow as the part came in today. I will however be without my computer for awhile. I will be able to use my daughter's but I most likely won't be using it as much as I do my own.


I like to read everyone's posts in the morning so I will try to still do this. However if for some reason I do not visit you for a couple of days or so, you will know why.


I wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful ideas for the rusty toolbox I bought to use as a planter.


I have decided what I am going to do with it and have already bought the flowers. When I come back I will post my little creation!!!


So don't worry about me my friends. My own connectors may be a little faulty as well as my computers, but I'll get by!!

" To Paint or Not to Paint , I Need Some Ideas."

So today I was just so darned bored. I had planned on playing outside but the weather wasn't cooperating with my plans.

What to do, what to do ?

Oh I know! I shall drag my husband and my daughter's boyfriend to the local salvage/junk shop.

Boy was it filled with junk! I was excited. I also found something and I want some ideas.

It's an old "Craftsman" tool box that I am going to turn into a planter. I am going to drill some holes in the bottom for drainage but after that I'm at a loss.

I could use some idea's. I could leave it rusty for the rustic look. I can paint it, then maybe paint some flowers on it. I'm just not sure and I thought someone out there might have a better or different idea. 

So put your thinking caps on folks. I open to suggestions. What do you think?

" A Few Pleasantries "

Today is a special one for me. On this very day, 34 years ago, my beautiful baby boy came into this world! I was six days away from my 20th birthday.

I wanted this baby so much. He was all I had dreamed of since I was very young. Frank is a wonderful man. A hard worker. He's been with the same company for 15 years. Or is it 17, my how time flies!

I am very proud to call him my son. And very proud of the life and family that he has made for himself.

Frank doesn't read my blog, at least I don't think he does. You could say he's a bit like his mother in so far that he is always busy working. If not on the job, then at home.

Anyway I still wanted to say that I love him and wish him a Happy Birthday!

I've been amazed at the beauty of the blooms in my yard. I went outside this evening and took a few photos. The colors are beautiful.

And this is what I worked on this morning.

It took me 2 hours and 15 min. I would have liked to use actual weed barrier but had to settle for the newspapers. Which is fine it just doesn't last as long. 

There are a few Easter Lilies in there and some other unidentified flower. I've found quite a few unidentified flowers this year. I planted several perennials around the yard last year before the knee surgery and I didn't bother to record the in my garden journal. So I will have a few surprises this summer!!

We are expecting rain the next couple of days but I am hoping to get some more work done in the yard this weekend. The lawn mower died last week so we get to go lawn mower shopping.

I'm so excited, not!

Hi Folks...

Wow I just looked at the date of the last time I posted. A little over a month. I knew that it had been awhile but didn't realize that it had been a whole month!

Actually I am really not in the mood to post but thought that I should or I might never come back.

I have been very busy, what with this early spring and beautiful weather that we've had but really that isn't the main reason for me not being here.

All that I can really say is that the dynamic of my immediate family has changed recently. I guess you could say that it is a big change but I don't feel right exposing things right now. And "No" , my Katie ISN'T pregnant!

None the less getting things settled and trying to find some sort of normality with the situation has put us on edge. Decisions had to be made rather quickly and lets face it, do we ever know if we are doing the right thing when we make a decision?

We aren't sure if we made the right decision or not but when it comes down to your gut feeling of what is right and wrong, I guess we felt we did the right thing. Only time will tell.

We are flying on a wing and a prayer right now. My Faith is still quite strong. I do believe this situation is happening for a reason unknown to me as yet.

So for right now I am just telling myself "One Day at a Time."

Prayers from my friends would be most appreciated.

Here's hoping that the next time I come back, we will feel like we are more solid ground. Until then, I'll be seeing you.
