" Where Did She Go ? "

I thought it best that I do a post to explain my absence. The truth is that I have just found myself tired of the computer. I don't know why but I've just had no desire to go online lately.

I didn't want anyone to worry about me as I have worried about others when they just up and disappear for some unknown reason. I even offered to let my husband take it with him over the road but he declined in fear of something possibly going wrong with it and the supposed "Wrath" that wound ensue! Whatever, I offered, he declined.

We have been very busy this past weekend. We had a bit of a break from the rain so we tore down the rest of the old fence.....

And then we had ourselves a nice little fire !

We didn't have enough energy to dig holes for the new fence posts  so that will wait until next time. Hopefully we'll have the fence up by the end of May. It all depends on how the weather is when Jake has his weekend off.

It was a nice Mother's Day weekend. I did get some flowers planted and my son came and cleaned out my gutters for me. I told him that was all that I wanted this year even though he would have done it anyway, there was nothing that I really wanted. I did buy myself some new sandals and a couple of new tee shirts. My daughter Ginny sent me a dozen roses. The colors were beautiful!

They came in a pretty glass vase but I wanted to get some use out of this Martini Pitcher since I never have Martini's!! We were invited to a B.B.Q. at my son and daughter-in-laws campsite but I was just too tired from the whole weekend. I did quite a bit of yard work and finished several painting projects I had on my list. I have one big one left but I am going to borrow my son's sander for that job. I've also done a lot of crocheting and I will admit that my hands are quite swollen. But it's been almost four weeks since I've smoked a cigarette so I've had to keep myself busy. Things are going well with that, I have about six more weeks on the patch. Doing it cold turkey didn't work well for me before.

My daughter Katie has an appointment with the Ear Nose and Throat doctor on the 26th of May. She had a CT scan that showed chronic sinusitis. It's been just over a year since she had sinus surgery. She had a large cyst growing in each of her sinuses that had to be removed. The poor kid went through hell from that. I am just praying that the sinusitis is from an infection that can be cleared with stronger antibiotics instead of polyps or cysts that have to be removed. Her father has had this surgery four times. It is horrible. So we are all praying hard.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures of the beautiful Clematis vines from my yard. They are putting on a spectacular show right now!

I'll try my best to check on everyone soon. I haven't forgotten about any of you by any means. I've just been on a cleaning, crocheting, and painting kick. I think it's from not smoking. Yeah that's it. Blame it on smoking. If I could smoke again, I'd be sitting and reading more!!!

Gee, everything is to green and BLOOMING! It is dry as a cracker here, and nothing is blooming. The grass is just beginning to green, even with my watering. This is so weird, and I don't like it. And we can be arrested or fined if we burn anything outside here! Even outside smoking is banned. Just terrible.

Soooo .... bottom line .... I'm very jealous. [pouty face]

Di, you've been doing SO well. Of course you've been missed (terribly), but listen to your heart and do what you "must" to support your determination to quit smoking. I have nothing but admiration for you.

I'm jealous of all you're accomplishing. And I'm praying for Katey. I can imagine the dread you ALL have of going through that surgery again.

Your clematis are beautiful. Mine must be fall bloomers. We never can remember which kind we have.

Take care now. I'm glad you re-surfaced :)

I always though a fence was what you humans take when people insult you. Seems you did well with yours.

(But really; what does a Bear actually understand about such things?)

So glad to see you back!

Crocheted until your hands were swollen. Oh, dear, Di. Self-inflicted, but still makes me feel sad. Please take care of yourself. And well done on the smoking, or, more to the point, not smoking!

Glad you had a good Mothers' Day. See you anon.

I was just here 2 hours ago checking on you Di, wandering where you were...thought it might have something to do with working outside. Your clematis blooms are lovely, farther along than mine.

Hope Katie's sinus problem improves, my Katie has the same issue sometimes.

Don't do anything drastic, like sending your computer on a long trip. We all go through ups and downs, and we all seem to come back.

Don't completely abandon the computer, though getting out and working in your yard (within reason - not Di style...) is good. I'm glad that you made it this far, Di, without smoking. I'm sending positive thoughts for Katie. That Clematis is lovely. Mine in Denver is vining but not blooming. We're under a winter storm warning here in the mountains - hope we can leave on our trip and get over the pass!

So sorry to hear about Katie and her sinus problems again, I'll add her to my prayer list. You too ~ I'm so happy to hear that you've stuck to the 'no smoking' but I know what a struggle that must be.

Your photos are beautiful! And I can see you've been busy, I know lately life here has been getting in the way too and I don't feel much like posting either. I have so many things I want to share, but then I just let the time slip away, or I'm too lazy to sit and write and load pictures.

Glad you had a nice Mother's Day and your son is so good! And Ginny's roses are beautiful!

I think of you often and it's nice to hear from you once in awhile.
Keep us posted!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

Hi Diana, I'm back and I'm glad you're back as well. I gasped when I saw your Clematis. It's gorgeous. I'm sure it's even more beautiful in person.

Hi Diana~ I would feel really bad if you gave up blogging! All of your posts plus the comments you make always have a spark, a positive light, human concerns, humor, well-told anecdotes that bring you closer to us all. I think you have a creative voice that needs to be heard. You might consider trying the Mapie Tales once in a while:(www.magpietales.blogspot.com).
These flowers are gorgeous! Love this time of year...

Listen, we've ALL been more cooped up than normal with the weather patterns in the past year and I admire that you got so much outside work done already. We've only mowed so far, and there is so much to do...I've missed you too, but I'm trying to get around to the blogs as I can myself. You sound a little tired sweetie. Do what you need to do for your sanity and health. What an awesome thing you are doing to quit smoking. Good for you, and God bless! LOVE your beautiful Clematis! Wish I had some!

I am really tired of logging on and doing things online as well. I totally understand how you are feeling. The flowers Ginny gave you are pretty as well as the Clematis growing outside.

Prayers being sent for you and the family Di.

Blessings my friend

I get you, entirely... If I didn't need the computer for work, I wouldn't be using it at all... I used to love going online, haven't loved it for months...

Congrats on your quitting smoking, Di! (Something I should do as well... will get to it... ;))

Sending lots of love!

Congrats on quitting smoking!!! I used the patch and have been smoke-free for 14+ years now! Way to go, girl...keep it up :-)..keep on "stepping down" until you are smoke free and patch free.
Don't do anything drastic with your computer- I think we all go through times when we're "addicted" to the darn thing but then life comes along to remind us to back away for awhile and take care of other things. It- and all your friends - will be there whenever you have (or want) a moment to check in. I, too, had to 'unplug' for awhile and regroup. It's not a bad thing:-)
Take care of yourself and your loved ones first, go play in the garden and enjoy the beauty, and if you get online -you get online -if not- don't forget to occasionally dust the darn thing :-) *giggle* *giggle*!!!

It's been almost two years since I've smoked and there are days I still miss it. Keep on keeping on! You can do it, I know you can! I have faith that you can! I don't miss the expense, I don't miss the smell (odor).
Hugz to you!

Hi Diana!
Well, I totally missed this!
Here to say a BIG hello, wishing you a beautiful weekend too ~
What a beautiful surprise and lovely bouquet of roses! I love their scent...but have little luck keeping them UP in the vase!
Any secrets?
I've changed even the way I cut the stems... little luck!

I hope Katie is okay ...what is it with sinus problems here in the north? Must be all the pollen and mold from wet leaves etc. So many people I know {including family} have sinus issues! Wishing her well, Diana!
I hope you have a nice weekend, and if you've had the same rains we have... wishing you some sunshine too!
*blessings always,
Maria

Soooo awesome that you are still not smoking. You're awesome!

That looks like more than a "little" fire.

I sure hope Katie feels better soon. That sounds like something very painful...

I've been away a good deal as well. I've kept my regular posting schedule for the most part, but cut way back on commenting. I'm not so much tired of the computer as I have been busy with other life events and there just doesn't seem to be enough time to go around.

Spring is here and summer is coming soon! Enjoy it! The computer stuff is always here when we can find the time for it.

I totally relate for the need to be away from the computer..I was surprised to find my last post was in February. I will try hard to keep active with my blog, but I do not want it to be a downer because of the days ahead with Frank's illness.I hope we can keep in touch. {Hugs} from Dee
