" Randomness "

I thought that I would just be a little random today .
Random.
This seems to be my fourteen year old, Katie's, word of the month . Isn't that the cat's meow ? It's groovy. It's hip . It's cool. And it is very random.
So is this photo that I took this afternoon . I finally, finally was able to clean my getaway apartment upstairs today. Nobody goes up there but me. So, I only clean it about once a month.
Whew, it was a lot of work. I needed a bre
ak. As I was sitting in my rocker, I looked up and saw a reflection.
I thought it groovy. Can you tell what it is ? Come on I know you are the cat's pajamas !

It was the sun reflecting off of my magnifying mirror with my tweezers on top. This could be a nifty way to paint something on your wall. Just be quick before the sun sets !

Oh my, here was a happy and pride filled day . Katie graduated the eighth grade in May. She is a Freshman now. Groovy !
In RANDOM order, Mommy is on the left followed by myself then Katie and my other daughter, Ginger Peach.
Peachy keen don't cha think ?

There really is no reason for posting this photo other than I thought that it was super cool !

Alrighty then. Here we have a face that only a mother could love.
How could you say "NO" to this face ?
Ruby is the bee's knees .

You see these clouds ? They are totally tubular dude!

Katie sent this photo to me from her phone.
She thought that this photo " Is beast ". And no, it's not " Is THE beast", Just " Is beast ". This slang term has replaced
" Cool " in case you are not up on new slang !
I knew this . Well not really . I just wanted you to think that I was hip.

Lucky for you I am done being random . I hope you all have a beautiful and far out Sunday.

I have never heard the term "Is Beast." I thought you misspelled best. I love it when I learn new terms. I've just learned that 'da bomb' means a good thing. To me, a 'bomb' is a bad thing....but what do I know? :))
I love the photograph of the refelction of the tweezers from the sun on your mirror! That is art, Di!! Is Beast!!
Great photograph of the family.
I notice you have the coolest painted toenails. Why do I notice things like that. I have no idea...just a random notice!
Smiles from Jackie

It's been WAY too long since I've been around all those slang terms. Never heard of "is beast" either.

Love the pic of the reflection--is beast!

Have a great Lord's day. Donna

Loved the picture on the ceiling! I thought it was scissors though, I did not guess tweezers.

And I loved all your other random thoughts and words and pictures ~ this post is beast!
(I've never heard that one either, but I am laughing so hard at Jackie here that she just learned that 'da bomb' was a positive term! And she works with kids! She reminds me of me when I first heard the term "Dissing", I asked my niece what the heck she was talking about when she told us that another teacher had 'dissed' her teacher in school that day! That has to be fifteen twenty years ago now, you know, around the time of 'da bomb'!)

Beautiful photos, Di! And it's so nice to pull them out every once in awhile and reminisce the good times!
I love your random post!
I love you!, E

Hi Jackie,
I had never heard of "is Beast' either but I'll tell you there is so much slang out there now!
Ginny used to say " the bomb". While Frank and Amy would refer to EVERYONE as "Dude", I believe they still do!
Wasn't that picture COOL? I yelled downstairs for Kate to bring my camera upstairs. I could see her eyes roll from upstairs!

Hi Bill,
I am so glad that you stopped by my silly blog today! I love your blog, I'll add you on too. It's all good, you're cool. That by the way, is my word of choice!

Diana said...

Hi Bernie,
I wish that I could have thought of more slang but my mind went blank. Jackie reminded me of " The bomb" which Ginny used to use as a teen. That meant "cool". I still say cool, all the time. So does Jake. Oh my we are so out of date!

Hi Anupama,

Hi Prams,
Yes the mirror was by the window when the sun was shining and it reflected to the wall. I thought it was pretty neat!
I miss my older daughter. She is 28 and lives 600 miles away. I will get to see her again at Christmas.

Hi Donna,
Having a 14 year old at home, I get to hear all of the new slang! Jake and I still just say COOL!
I slept late this morning and have to get a move on. Church starts at 10:00 and we have to get ready. Have a good Sunday! Love Di

Diana said...

Hi Eileen,
I completely forgot about "Dissing". I remember that I always thought they were trying to say "dishing" with a lisp! It took me awhile to get that one! I was telling Jackie that Ginny would always say "da bomb". I wonder if she still does at times? Anyway, I am running late this morning. See you soon! Love Di

How am I doing? (By the time I get the hang of it, they're on to a new thang.)

Hi Di,
I loved the photo of the reflection on you ceiling, but I too thought it was 'da sissors', but it really is 'da bomb' and 'is beast' too.

Hey were you listening to 'Heavy Metal' while you were cleaning? Loved the pics, and the post was 'random' 'rad'. (((HUGS))) T

Cool pictures Diana :)
I've no idea where the "in" phrases originate. But you know them when you're in school and college..The corporate world has it's own lingo..which is always 'oh-so-professional' :-)

But it makes sense keeping tabs on them..You never know when they'd make it to dictionaries :)

Diana said...

Oh Gail, I'm crazy enough without smokin' anything! I just crack myself up all the time!

Diana said...

Well Rebecca, you are doing way better than me! I just can't stop saying COOL! Well at least Jake still says it too!
By the way how is your husband doing? Do you know anything more yet?
I hope he's beast!
Love Di

Barb said...

Hi Di - that reflection is beast! Also, may I say that Ruby is beast? Or, would that hurt her feelings?

Diana said...

No Barb, it wouldn't hurt Ruby's feelings. She thinks she's the cat's meow!
Wasn't that reflection neat? It really did surprise me!

I love that random look at random things in your life.
I missed the mirror thing.
Life seems good for you.

Rebecca said...

You asked about my husband....Cardiologist increased medicine. Seems his heartbeat hasn't gone down too much just yet and blood pressure was really high before church this morning. I was scared. Dr. said if it didn't get back into rhythm, they might "shock" it on the 29th. He feels fine. Can't tell his heart is racing; has no pain or shortness of breath. Thanks for asking. Thanks for praying.

Rebecca said...

Oh, by the way, I'm older than you. We said "neat" all the time. "Cool" came after "neat"....

Random is good, very good, Di!

Actually I think we should make up new words ourselves for stuff.

Let's see...how about...wow, how strifgo is that! Or that is over the top gopglio???

You photo of the tweezers was way strifgo...in fact it was all the away to gopglio.

In fact, you are an awesome strifgo person yourself, you know!

Would you rather be groovy? Because you're that too!

blessings and hugs,

marcy

Hi Dr. John,
Yes life is good, most of the time! The rest could be worse!
Love Di

Diana said...

Hi Rebecca,
That is scary. I wonder what is causing his heart to race like that. Is it something that just happens? I've been on blood pressure meds for 20 years but never had a racing heart beat. I pray that he doesn't have to have his heart shocked. I know that it can take awhile for meds to work sometimes. Please keep me informed. For now we will just keep praying. Love Di

Diana said...

Well Marcy, actually Katie and I make up words all of the time. She always tells me that she is very "smartical"! And you mentioned , awesome. Remember when people said "awesome" all the time? You are awesome and gopglio!
Love Di

My first thoughts on the strange reflection on your ceiling was "I wonder why Diana has such an odd sticker on her ceiling"...it was such a clear image to be what it was...Your windows must be perfectly clean Diana, which doesn't surprise me...
and Diana they do have a gadget for reflecting images to draw.

I've heard my g/son use random, but haven't heard the beast yet, will listen for it now!

Luv and Smiles,
Wanda
