" Just a Quickie "

This is just a quickie post this evening. I can't believe that it's only Tuesday. I feel as though I've been priming theses walls forever.

This is exactly what I have been doing on and off for over a week. Unfortunately I am not as young and skinny as the above woman and my knees and hands are killing me! Arthritis ain't for sissies!

It took two coats on all of the walls but I am done. I so much want to start putting the color on the walls, which by the way, is top secret! But I do have another house to clean this week besides my own and would like to be able to walk this weekend when my husband comes home.

I have also neglected quite a bit of yard work but I just can't do it all by myself any more. I went to the doctor last week and he didn't like my numbers so he doubled my B.P. and Cholesterol medications, yippie ! Also he wants me to have a blood test for RA. I have never been tested for it and because my arthritis is so bad, he wants to make sure. He said that if it were RA, there are other medications that I could try.

I'm just going along with the program. Jake says I do too much but it hurts all the time so what difference does it make if I sit in pain or move in pain? Besides you only go around once and my house has to be clean before I can die!

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to sound morbid I'm just exhausted.

So I will leave you all for now. And I will try to be a good girl for awhile and take it easy. Although I may take my bike for another spin in the morning!

Love to you all, have a good evening!

You're exhausted, but you may go for another spin...that sounds just like you, Diana. Have you been back on the bike, since that initial ride? I know the ankle stopped you for awhile. I still haven't dusted mine off, busy with yard work.
I love your attitude...if it's gonna hurt, it's gonna hurt, sitting or moving. Still, try not to overdo, you'll just wish you hadn't! My husband has a tendency to work till he drops. I say, have a good day's work, but leave time for enjoyment.

Hi Wanda,
Yes I went out early Easter morning and rode for about five minutes. I probably could have gone a little longer but didn't want to push it. It was wonderful. The morning was beautiful, quite and no traffic. Just me and the birds. I almost went today but it was very windy and I wanted to get the painting done. And I do have a tendency to work till I drop, that's what Jake doesn't like but he knows I can't help it. He usually takes over when he gets home so I don't have as much to do! Go for a ride before it gets too hot!

Have a good night, Diana!
Make your fav. "before bed beverage" and wrap your hands around it {I always find that helps my hands}
and
put your feet up...
Have a restful night, Diana ♥

Oh sweetie, I am much like you but I do have help. If there is something that I have to do I just don't stop until I finish it. I have been cleaning closets and putting linens from my linen closet in "space bags" today. I am packing up the heavier winter blankets and duvets and bringing out the cotton and linens for summer. Everytime I do this though we get "snow", I have also been cleaning flower pots etc.....just busy getting ready for sumer. I'm glad Jake will be home to help you, I am trying to find a handy man to replace some boards on my deck right now so I can paint it before I bring out my deck furniture. Our weather is still nice but my arthritis is telling me something is about to change.
Get some rest sweetie, love you
.........:-) Hugs

Oh Bernie, I don't even want to get started on what needs to be done upstairs! Switching winter clothes for summer and all of my mom's stuff is just scattered everywhere up there.
It's just a mess but I will save the upstairs for when Jake is gone and maybe a rainy day! I can feel when the weather is going to change in my hips and back. The hips burn real bad and my back feels like it's going to break. Once it gets nice out it isn't as bad. I hope you find some handy person soon. Too bad we weren't there, Jake would do it for you! Love Di ♥

I guess I won't even bother to tell you to slow down because you won't listen!
I'm the same way though, once I start a project I like to get it done and out of the way, but I've learned to do a little here and a little there, I don't get too much done at one time anymore with Jayden about, although this past week he was so good for me (and he even helped me move furniture!) as I cleaned out both the front room and the back room! Ray was so happy that I didn't involve him in it at all (cleaning out the back room is usually our Spring battleground!). 'Glad to have those projects out of the way. Now Ray and I have to tackle painting the back room and we have to decide on what to do with the ceiling back there and Ray is going to make shelves for me too. I'm not stressing about it though, if it gets done, it gets done, and if it doesn't get done this Spring, there's always next year. I just want to have FUN!

You have some fun too!
Love you!, E

Hey Diana...it's been so long since my last visit. Pardon me. I've just been too caught up!

I am sorry to know that you are still not better. Do pain balms provide any relief?

It's true--none of our advice to slow down will help! however, I understand your need to do things anyway. We had six trees trimmed at our house and we did all the clean up--a full day and a half. My legs are very stiff but the yard looks good. (a blog to come soon) Take time to smell the roses, OK?

Hi Eileen,
My goal was to do one wall a day but my knees didn't like that. So I had to take a few days off. But it's done now. The paint is next. I love that Jayden helps you, he is a good grandson. Love Di ♥

Hi Lena, The way I see things is if I don't do it, it won't get done! I just need a break in between!

Hi Tranquility,
I know how busy you are! Sometimes balms help but the knees are bone on bone and there's nothing that can really change that! But I'm good today. It's raining so I can't go for a bike ride :( Love Di ♥

Diana said...

Well Donna I was going to go for a bike ride to relax this morning but it is raining. But that's o.k. because it's supposed to be nice this weekend. Cleaning the yard is a lot of work, especially after tree trimming! Hope your not too sore today!
Love Do ♥

Busy Busy Busy that's what I say! Keep busy busy busy! Well I too have been in pain, it is just getting older that does it? I think so. No way getting out of it I think. I had a Nuclear Bone Scan done last week. It wasn't good. The doc even called me at home after 6 pm! just to tell me it wasn't good. LOL Findings:
1. Increased tracer activity about the shoulders, sternal
articulations, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, and feet
consistent with arthropathic change. and that was only #1 out of 4! Impression: Arthropathy and spondylosis. Sinonasal disease.
Abnormality to suggest malignancy is not confirmed. Clinical
correlation is necessary to assure adequacy of assessment. so in other words....I am screwed with osteoarthritis. LOLOL that's what I say! PHEW! But your right, you hurt if you are sitting in a chair doing nothing or active so....let's just be active I say! Hope you are feeling better for when hubby gets home this weekend! hugs and smiles!

I've been slaving away down here in Columbia and Charleston--so I know just how you feel. (NOT!)

I can't wait to see those painted walls! Stay busy. Be wise.

Hugs.

I'm guessing that your new color is going to be pale yellow. Does your BP medicine make you dizzy at all? I ask because I'm hoping he takes me off mine soon - my BP is too low, and I do get light-headed. (Not good for climbing ladders OR riding bikes!)

Diana said...

Hi Barb, You are warm with the color. I don't get dizzy from the medication but I've been on B.P. medication for twenty years so I just may be used to it. Love Di ♥
