" Tuesday Tidbits "

Not a very interesting day but the steroids seem to be helping with the rash. Although my left arm still looks as though an eyeball is growing on it! I woke in the middle of the night scratching it so hard that it woke me up. I suppose that's what I get for not wearing my sock with the toe cut out, over it. I will wear it tonight for sure.

My Katie girl is back to school, this being her second year in high school. She is still as spirited as ever (full of attitude). I am sure you can see it in the photo.

Her days are longer this year. She doesn't get home till almost four and leaves at eight. Needless to say she has been tired after school and cranky too!
She and her friend came home for lunch today. I was going to use Wanda's suggestion and make a salad with ham cubes and cornbread but I remembered that Katie said that she had a taste for bow tie pasta and I had bought some over the weekend.

So I fixed some homemade meat sauce for the pasta and broiled some slices of french bread with garlic butter and Parmesan cheese, sprinkled with Italian seasonings.

Again they scarfed down their food and took off! Honestly, can we say "Thank you" ?!!!

I think I may make something with the leftover chicken that I baked last night. Or the salad, we'll see how creative I feel tomorrow!

My son stopped over today after work. I asked if he could string some more clothesline for me as I have trouble getting it taut. The above photo was taken while Jake was still on vacation. We went over to the kids house for a cookout while Kate was at camp.

Honestly I think that was the most relaxing evening I had that week.

That was pretty much all I did. Sit with my feet up and take pictures. Well not the whole time! My granddaughter Sarah took me on a tour of "Her" garden!

She is quite the little farmer girl and I went home with a bag specially picked vegetables just for me!!

Well I guess I didn't get them in this photo, but they are there, in the back! You'll just have to take my word for it on this one!

She also had to show me "Her" flower garden. It was really pretty. I think she may have had some help from mom.

There was this Angel statue in the garden. It belonged to my mom. She had two of them. I have the other. I felt her there as I looked at it.

And Sarah still remembers her grandma Annie too.

A couple of my boys, relaxing.
And one ........

That doesn't know the meaning of the word!

Except for sometimes when he's in his mama's arms.

That was a fun evening.

And as for today, just an ordinary one. I have some great smelling clothes from being hung out. But I am sure that novelty will wear off as soon as the weather starts to turn.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a new dryer soon. But in the meantime, it's not so bad hanging them outside.

Katie is back to her teenagery self and all is right with the world once again.

Diana, what a bout you have been having. glad the steroids are helping...lunch sounded great...if they won't say thank you, I will come by and I promise I will say thank you. Actually my Mom makes a good bow tie salad. school seems a bit early to start yet, but I know some do go back early. I know my sister is counting the days until her boys go back....lol. little Jack does not look like he would sit for long. I would be putting my feet up too. I love the smell of fresh dried clothes. take care Di, hope you are feeling much better soon. wear that sock tonight it should help. hugs to you.

Katie's photo looks like she may have just finished rolling her eyes. It looks like both grandkids take after you Di...Sarah with her flower garden and Jack with his stay busy attitude! Tell Sarah she grows great sunflowers!

Don't forget the 'toeless' sock!

I love the picture of "the boys" at the grill. How very sweet!

I'm very glad to hear the rash is better. Things like that are terrible, and getting some relief is the best!

Katie is a typcal teenager and if she does not thank you now, she will some day. That thanks may come in the form of her telling someone what wonderful times she and her friends had sharing those lunches with you. She does have attitude, I bet. *s*

I loved the pictures. Such cute little kids. You must be proud.

I hope the steroids work and give you some relief from the itching.

Hello my friend how are you doing? Happy to hear the steroids are working and Katie is back to her ole self....she will be fine Di. It is hard going from a young girl to a young lady....I know how much you enjoy having her home.
Have a good night, and don't scratch....:-)Hugs

I can tell you that our kids wouldn't have got a gourmet lunch. "There are the fixins. Make yourself a sandwich."

Di - I am boarding a plane and will be there in time for lunch! Looking at Sarah's garden made me think of Mr Toad and his house. How's he doing? Hope the itching stops soon.

ugh! Itchy, Itchy. That is just miserable stuff. I feel you pain.
When ever I get it, which is a lot I put alochol on it. Dries it out. Burns like a son of a gun but makes you forget the itching. a real "hurts so good"

You made me crave pasta with meat sauce.

I'm glad I don't have any more kids it high school. Those were some of the most trying times of my life as far as kids go.

How beautiful -- "her" garden! Garden genes must run in the family.

The pasta dinner appealed to me. I may try a variation of it today. I stripped a rotisserie chicken yesterday and ought to be able to f figure out SOMEthing to do with it and pasta...

Glad you had a more relaxing day after all that itchin'!

DI are your CRAZY! What a wonderful mom you are fixing a HUGE meal for your Katie and her FRIENDS! once again ARE YOU CRAZY! LOL I probably would do the same thing, but not if I was feeling as badly as you have been! Those little "stinkers"! lol one day...put a can of tuna out, with the can opener...and an empty bowl...and the bread on the counter and just happen to "not be home" when lunch time happens LOL, take yourself to lunch! you are too funny! like I said, "ARE YOU CRAZY?" those helpless little stinkers! as long as you do it...they will keep coming... um something like the movie "Field of Dreams"..."if you make it, they will come" ! LOL!!!!! hugs and smiles...hope you get feeing better!

Maybe you should bake little fortune cookies for dessert for your Katie and her friend with messages that say things like "Here is a gracious clue, tell your mama 'thank you.'" etc. Think up little rhymes with all kinds of mama messages. Of course this idea is probably too subtle for sophomore girls.

Just have a heart to heart talk with Kate Diana. Just do that! Tell her all about it, but don't make it sound like emotional torture.

Children must be appreciative of parents just as parents must appreciate the child's efforts. I've had problems both ways, but I know how much it pleases my Mom when I cook for a change. Or do errands for my dad. Wish I had that sense earlier!
