" December 29th "

Today is our anniversary.
I wanted to take the time to do something special like tell the story of how we met, which is quite interesting by the way, but and this is a BIG BUTT, I quit smoking three days ago and I feel as though I am going insane as you may or may not have noticed from this extremely long run on sentence!!!!!!
My husband is on his seventh day, I think.
He is doing better at it than me!

Any hoo we have been married for twenty-one years.
You may congratulate us for that if you like!
But please don't congratulate me on the smoking thing yet.
This is my fifth try in forty years. One of which lasted two years and then I just couldn't take it anymore and started again .
And please, NO health lectures. I am 52 years old and know all the risks. And right now I don't care!
Sorry folks it's called withdrawal!!!
It may interest you to know that I met my husband on August 29th 1989 and married him on December 29th 1989.
So we knew each other for less than four months before I proposed.
He said yes.

I promise to tell you the story of how we met very soon.
It really was very special. I just need some more time to let my brain adjust. I know that you'll understand.

Until then I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to the one and only person in my life who has had my back no matter what.

I love ya babe!!

Happy Anniversary, Di! And congratulations on your butt-free streak.

I "caught" that fact that you proposed (although I can't tell if you are just being facetious or not)!

Jake is one fine man and your genuine love and appreciation shines through your humorous account how you met. ♥

Happy Anniversary!!

I quit cigs two years ago, after 3 other attempts (within 10 years of lighting my first). It's not easy.

Happy Anniversary to BOTH of you and I pray you will be able to leave those cigs behind and never go back to them.
Hugs,
andrea

Happy anniversary to you and Jake! I can't wait to hear the story. "How we met" stories are lots of fun, I think.

I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a successful journey, and now that I know J is quitting, as well, I'm including him.

Peace and love! (Doesn't that sound like a hippie? LOL!)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO A WONDERFUL COUPLE!
I wish you both all the best!
And I love the photos!

And go join Farmville, it will drive you more insane than the not smoking, it will drive you so insane that you will not even think about smoking! I went back to it yesterday and today for a little bit and I am getting both addicted and aggravated AGAIN!
Something to occupy your mind and your fingers anyway!

LOVE YOU LOTS, E

I stopped writing my journal blog because I found out that writing poetry was all that mattered to me, but I kept your URL on my list. And I'm so glad I did! I found your story very believable. And for me to say that about something involving 'voices' is strange as I'm a sceptic. But your story really rang true.Your husband has lovely eyes. (I'm no expert on lips, but they must have been pretty good too.)

Please hang in there with the smoking thing! I married a heavy smoker and he quit smoking after being hypnotised. He hasn't smoked now for well over thirty years and he loves being free of it.

Enjoy 2011 as much as you obviously enjoyed 2010.

Congrats big time!

I quit smoking twice. The first time I quit for about 8 years. Then I smoked again for about seven years and quit again. That was about 14 years ago. I doubt whether I'd ever start back. Wishing you luck with that and I know you all can do it if you really want to.
