" Just Some Stuff "

Hi Folks !
This is just a little miscellaneous post.
My husband came home this evening and wanted to play video games. The man is almost fifty and loves to play video games. I don't mind so much as I know it is a distraction from work for him.

That is him playing " Halo Reach ". It has the same effect on him that crocheting has for me.

Not to worry, we will watch a movie or something together after a bit ;).

To date I have made five pairs of fingerless gloves. I have made two adorable pairs for my Grandkids and hopefully will have photos of them after the weekend, wearing them. Sometimes baby
(4 year old) Jack can be a bit uncooperative when it comes to the camera though, so will shall see.
Bribery does wonders at times though!

My neck is healing well. I went for my doppler and the girl that was doing it said that everything looked really good. I took this as a good sign as she did the first doppler when it showed I was 90 % blocked and didn't say a word!!!!!!

So here is my photo that I posted before. It was after the surgery.

When I took that one, most of the bruising was already gone.

Please bare in mind, I don't wear make-up anymore.
Once in a great while, maybe for church every now and then.

Here is a photo of me now.

What a difference two weeks makes right?!

O.k. I am almost done for now. I do have an anniversary of sorts to tell you about. It's sort of silly but Jake and I just love it so I will tell you what it is.

We have researched this at the courthouse.

Our house was built in 1946.
We discovered that we are the 13th owners of the house. The longest owners to occupy the house lived here for 13 years.

Weird wouldn't you say?
Anyway as of April 23rd, we will have been in this house for 13 years.

Which means, as of April 23rd, we will be in our 14th year as the owners.

We just thought it a bit odd that no one made it past the 13 year mark.

We both love this house. However, if circumstances changed, we would definitely move as we don't like the area so much.

But for the most part, wrinkles, creaks and leaks...
we love this house. Now we just have to make it to April 2013 to break the record!!

Fourteen years.

So that's it folks,

Just some stuff!!

Have a fun weekend.

Di, you look good! You are healing nicely! And you look happy!

Nice that Jake has a fun distraction in video games! And did you end up watching a movie? We were going to watch one but I ended up on the computer and Ray just watched some shows he had taped (are we even supposed to use the word 'taped' anymore? It's not a video tape. What is it? Recorded? Is that better? Oh, I guess I'll never catch up with technology!)

Very interesting about your house too. Thirteen owners! And you will be the longest owners ~ Congratulations!
Our house is around one hundred years old and I think my parents were only the fourth owners (they bought this house in 1963). So people have stayed awhile. My parents lived here nineteen years, and Ray & I will have lived here THIRTY YEARS this coming June! Wow! Where did the time go?!

All the best to you and Jake and God Bless you with many more happy years together, whether they be in the same home or new surroundings!

I know what you mean about loving the house, I love our old house too (especially because it was the home of my childhood), but if we had to move tomorrow I'd look forward and not back.

Keep posting your progress ~ 'LOVE hearing that things are on the upswing!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
PS ~ I AM going to try and get a picture of Baby Ray in a pair of 'nerd' glasses! Ahahahahahahahahahaha! And if you can find the one of you please post it!

You look like you''re healing well. Congratulations.

I sometimes wish I were more interested in playing video games. I played a lot with my first computer way back in the eighties but pretty well lost my interest after that.

Happy house day.

Di - your neck looks so much better and by the look in your eyes, I'd say you're more rested, too. Glad your hubby is home with you. Have a great weekend. PS I might have the same blanket that is behind you.

Looking good there chick! So nice to see that happy smile and know you are doing well. And, about that near 50 year old gamer of yours, he hasn't got anything on this near 60 year old grandma. I can beat my grandkids at video games. My excuse for playing - it keeps the old mind sharp:)

Di - I'm so glad you posted a before and after photo. You look GREAT!! What progress you've made. I'm so happy for you.
And Jake, keep on playing, good buddy. It's fun and it keeps us young. Enjoy those video games.
Happy House Anniversary, my sweet friend.
Love you much,
Jackie

I've been so out of the loop in the blogging world for the past couple months. I had to go back and read all your older posts. I didn't even know you had another surgery. I'm so glad you are feeling better and I sure hope you are done spending time at that darn hospital!

you're looking good...I used to try to get Don to play games on the computer...his favorite thing to do beside watch TV was to read tax manuals! He loved them! Of course he prepared taxes so that was a good thing! ;-)

Hello Di, popped in to see how you are doing. Hmm, the swelling is going down and you are definitely looking a stack happier. Before moving to the farm I had never stayed more than three years in any town, let alone a particular home. I've been here for more than ten years now, absolutely amazing.
Bless you my friend,Geoff.
