" Gloious Days of Friendshp "

You remember that friend.

That girl, she was always there.
You parted.

But you knew that she knew all that was you.
Oh that girl.
She remembered  all of your secrets.
So now what do you do?

Do you love her as you did way back when ?
No.

You love her more now.
She knows you, and you know her.

What wonderful women we have become !

She is still that girl. She is still that girl.
We are women.

How amazingly awesome is this moment ?

This was inspired from a wonderful visit from a very long time friend. When she left, I Cried.

I've had a visit or two like that! Thank God for friends - past and present!

The word verification is "mates"! Can you believe it? I just had to come back up here and tell you.

Yes, I have a friend like that. How wonderful that you brought these memories back through your post. We have "been there" for each other many times through the years.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend,
Lois

HI DI-
Lovey post of the gift of friendship. ANd knowing that you have a long time friend says much about you and your strong values.

I am visiting a few blogs today - yesterday was horrid - all day at the hospital with my Mom - she is so weary. And had to endure lots of tests. I ached with her. I held her in my arms in waiting rooms, and advocated for her when some staff was rude and thanked other staff for their kindness - I goth er juice and crackers - I listene and watched.......

Love you my friend
Gail
peace and hope

What a beautiful friendship post, Di! And I so understand the tears, it's like a little bit of us leaves with them.

I lost a friend a few years ago, and I was surprised at how much my heart ached for her because I hadn't seen her for years. I talk to her all the time now, and ask for her help a lot. And just recently I heard about a childhood girlfriend that passed away (she had been living out in California for the past twenty years, and I hadn't really seen her much since she was a bridesmaid in our wedding party, only running into her here and there), but the news devastated me.

I'm so glad you got this chance to reconnect with your friend, really a gift from Heaven above!

I don't know the author of this quote but I always remembered it:
"Make new friends but keep the old
For one is silver, the other gold".

Love to you,
Eileen

Isn't it wonderful catching up with long ago friends? That's what my visit in Denver was all about, and it was SO great!

I am so happy that you and your friend had an opportunity to catch up and enjoy your friendship. There are those friends that we may go for years without seeing but when we are together, it is as if we never lost touch. We simply pick up where we left off. Those are the very best kinds of friends.

Beautifully put, Di! I have long-time friends who know my heart - the emotional tie between true friends is strong. I'm glad for your meaningful visit.

Hi Di,
There is few things in life that are as special as an old friend, who knows you, and loves you, and that you know always will. I am so glad you had a chance to visit with a friend such as this.

This makes me want to reconnect with some of my old friends too, like my friend Helena, who I met last year after so many years, and who wanted to get together, and I didn't. I found her telephone number again the other day...I think I will call her.

A dear friend, what a treasure of life!
Diana, I love this friendship quote:
I'm sure you've read it before, but here it is tonight ~
“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”

and

I love this one too :o)

“You meet people who forget you. You forget people you meet. But sometimes you meet those people you can't forget. Those are your 'friends.'”

Smiling with you ♥
