" Anna Mae Evanoff "

February 20, 1937 - December 5, 2009

I don't know what else to say except that I am completely numb
right now.

I just found out a few hours ago that my mom passed away in her sleep
Last night.

I can't think and I can't feel anything.
I can't even cry.

Arrangements will be made tomorrow.

I love you mom.

Diana, there is no way to wrap your mind or your heart around losing your Mom right now.
I think it will take a long while.

And be prepared, because a little bit of you goes with her now, Di.

I'm so sorry, Di.
Much love,
Eileen

I know that feeling. The numbness that starts the grief process. It is as ifr God buiilt in a shock absorber so we can get ready to handle a truth we don't want to handle.

I am so sorry I didn't come here earlier. December 5 was a day after I had left home. I am terribly sorry to hear this Diana. I know that no amount of words can ever provide any comfort. But I would want to know that your Mom is still around you. Only you don't see her. She is and always be with you in spirit. I know you are being exceptionally strong. Take care Diana..

You mentioned your mother's death on my blog week before last, and I feel badly that I am just now coming around. I couldn't sleep for thinking of it this early a.m., so here I am, finally.

I've lost both parents, and had the privilege of being with them when they passed. Still, I know nothing of what your mother's death might be like for you--even my own parents' death struck me very differently. People get through these things at their own speeds and in their own ways, and that's about all I know on the subject. It does help to have friends close at hand during the process, and I would like you to think of me as standing by you even though not so terribly close geographically.

If there is anything at all that I can do, please tell me what it is.
