" This, That and Experiments Too."

Alrighty then, lets try this again shall we? This is quite experimental today as I have switched to the New Blogger Editor. I thought, " What the heck, if I don't like it, I can switch it back." Right? Right, so here we go.

As you may or may not know my granddaughter Sarah spent the night with me Saturday night. Meanwhile, Katie spent the night at my son's house to babysit for baby Jack. This way my son and his wife could get away for a few hours while Katie made some extra cash.

I really expected Sarah to arrive worn out. She had to cheer at two games, and then went to a FOUR Hour birthday party before she even came over. Those must be some super human parents to have a four hour party with seven year olds! When she did come over, she was ready to go. I decided that we would go and see...
The Tooth Fairy Movie ! So off we went and off Katie and Amy went. Katie got to drive the van for the first time! And Sarah and I got some much needed one on one time. When we arrived at the theater we purchased a bag of popcorn, two sodas and a box of Dots for Sarah. I must admit that I really wasn't too sure how the movie would be, but to my surprise it was very enjoyable with plenty of laughs and a good moral to the story! Julie Andrews as usual, was excellent in her roll as head Tooth Fairy. And Billy Crystal was quite hysterical as the Fairy that was in charge of all of the Tooth Fairies props.

We ate tons of popcorn and drank lots of soda. I will try and remember next time that grandma's bladder is much older than Sarahs ! We left the theater happy, full of popcorn and Dots stuck in our teeth! What more could we ask for? We got home around 8:30 and weren't ready for bed yet, despite the fact that it was past Sarahs bedtime. She reminded me twice that there was no school tomorrow! So we watched funny cat and dog videos on You Tube. Before we knew it, it was 11:30p.m. and we were by this time, ready for bed!

I knew I wouldn't get much sleep that night. My granddaughter is a known BED HOG! We have four beds in the house but she always wants to sleep with grandma. I think I got about three hours of sleep in. But it was worth it for this...

Sarah had a busy day indeed! The next morning I fixed us some bacon and waffles after which we colored for an hour or more.

After coloring we read some Junie B. Jones. I have had this series of books since Katie was in Kindergarten. Sarah has always loved for me to read them to her and I enjoy them so much. They are very funny! Sarah can read so well now that she suggested that we take turns reading chapters. I was truly amazed at her reading skills! And we always have several hysterical laughing fits while reading Junie B.!

We decided to head back to Sarahs house around noon Sunday. I wanted to spend some time with my son, his wife and baby Jack. The weather has been such as of late that it's made that difficult. So off we went and after we arrived we had a great visit. I didn't get to see much of my son as he was working in the garage on his truck. I tried to get his picture but he said "No" as he was covered in grease! I still thought him handsome but had to respect his wishes! But I did get to hang out with my daughter-in-law and baby Jack.

Sorry about the red eye but it's hard enough to get him to stand still and smile for me at the same time, so there was no time for any camera adjustments!
When it was time to leave, Katie, as I suspected, wanted to drive home. Wow there's a surprise. So after a little bit of blackmail I let her drive home. You know, " You can drive home if you let me take your picture!". Well it worked. Not only did she drive us back to town, but I let her also drive through town to the video store. She's really doing well. And as you can see she is taking the driving thing very seriously!

Well there you have it. I have used the New Post Editor for Blogger. I am going to publish this and hopefully it will come out alright. There are different options that I haven't tried yet. I just wanted to test it first. I do like the way you can add photos much better then the older version.

It does work well, I agree. The drawback is that it doesn't have spell check in it. I don't understand why they didn't include spell check or haven't added it since creating the new Post Editor. Makes no sense to me. I switch back and forth sometimes.

But on to important things .... Beautiful grandchildren! And child, too! It sound as if you and Sarah had a fabulous weekend. Isn't it fun to have them over. I enjoyed that when I was close enough to see my granddaughter often enough. Now she is too far away and probably way too old for that, at 13 and 1/2!! Maybe I'll get to do a sleepover night with my two in FL while I'm there. Who knows!

Hi Lyn,
So far I like it too. I stopped using spell check a while ago. I usually correct the spelling as I go when the word shows up underlined. But so far so good. I will experiment some more as I go. And you are right, Sarah and I had a wonderful evening but it sure wore me out. In a good way of coarse!

I think being a grandma is the best thing in world and from the looks of it, I think you do as well. I need to do what you did and take my older grandkids out, just the three of us. Thanks for sharing this and reminding me that I need to do this more often.
Hugs to you
Terrie

Hi Di, so you've mastered the new Blogger Editor, which I haven't tried yet, I only learned of it through your previous post.

That was a perfect visit for Sara, a movie with treats, coloring, and Junie B. Jones, just what most young girls love. Little jack, with his big blue eyes, will have you doing different things, most likely with bugs!

I think Katie looks a lot like her older sister, Ginny. The driving photo is neat, there's a curve warning sign in the mirror.
Catch up with your sleep and enjoy the week Di.

Hi Maria,
I've been letting Kate drive everyday and she is doing so well, I am very proud of her efforts. Not perfect yet but catching on quicker than I thought! Love Di ♥

Hi Terrie,
I used to do so much more with Sarah. But she is involved in so many activities now that she has to "Pencil me in!". But that close bond is still there, I love it!

Hi Di, I am like Wanda, I didn't even know about the new blogger editor....I really haven't mastered this old one yet so I think I will stay here for awhile.

I love how you and Sara had such fun on Saturday, movie and popcorn sounds great and then to enjoy little Jack on Sunday was just a bonus. The grandchildren are so sweet Di and I love seeing their pictures and hearing of their adventures.

Katie is doing so well with her driving and she will only get better the more she drives. I am so happy for her as I know it is important to the young kids today to get their drivers liscense.

Take care sweetie......:-) Hugs

Good for you, Di - you've mastered the new editor. Those Grands of yours are sure cute. My Amanda just lost her first tooth - she wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy asking for her reward but wanting to keep the tooth one more day - the Fairy complied! She also loves the Junie B. books. Katie is a very serious driver - I like that!

Hi Bernie,
The new editor makes putting photos up much easier. You upload all of the photos that you want to use first. And then when you are ready to add a photo, you click on add photo and all of the thumbnails are in a little screen. You just click on the photo you want and it goes right in the spot you want yet you can still move it around. No more dragging if you don't want to. But I am still experimenting! And Katie is doing wonderful. I can't wait for her dad to go with her as I think he will be very surprised!

Hi Barb,
So far I like the new editor. So far!
I think Amanda would love that movie too if she hasn't already seen it. Sarah really enjoyed it. I've been letting Katie drive everyday which I think has helped a lot!

I could hardly keep up with your hours with Sarah - and I was just READING! What fun you all had.

Congrats on the great looking post. (I didn't realize you weren't using the updated version when I was trying to explain how I closed up the gaps....) Hope you have some smooth sailing in Blogger in the weeks to come!

It looks like you guys had a great time...I love being a grandma, I think it is one of the greatest blessings the Lord has given. I smile each time I read about the driving experiences. When will she be able to drive solo? I am happy y0u resolved your blogger problem. I will probably be the only person who never updates her blog...do you think blogger will eventually force me to? LOL.

Sorry about your Blogger problems (below). I have no idea what's going on. Good for you for having such a good time with your grand.

Loved this post, Di! Looks like both you and Sarah had a great night (and doesn't their energy astound you?)! The movie sounded really cute. And the next day too sounded wonderful, and your grandchildren are beautiful! Baby Jack is just the cutest! Such a sweet little face! I love him!

So glad that Katie is doing well with the driving. You seem much more relaxed about it.
And so glad your blogger problems are getting resolved. I'm still having such problems, I don't know if it's my computer or blogger, but I'm having troubles all around!

I'm trying to visit blogs but not getting access to many of them! Ugh!

I'm going to try and post again later this week. Wish me luck!
Love to you,
Eileen
