" Bad Blogger Award "

I'm sure that there must be one out there somewhere. After all there's an award for just about everything.
No I didn't really get this award but I probably should as my Blogging habits have been horrible as of late.
The truth is that this month, January, has just left me totally uninspired as far as blogging goes.
Around here, I've been keeping pretty busy. In between projects I have been Lumping. I know that's not healthy but again, I just don't feel inspired.
I have been working on two crochet projects. I am almost done with those. I can't post a photo as they are a surprise for two individuals.
Today I started working on another project that has been a thorn in my side for nearly twelve years. This house has many little hallways with built in cabinets. One of the things I love about this place.
One of the little halls is right off of the kitchen and has plaster walls that are nearly 50 years old. I've never painted it to match the kitchen and it is missing floor and door trim.
It also has a little closet, I guess you would call it.

It looks to me that it could have been a broom closet but it has little pieces of wood on the sides that once held shelves?

It's all so mysterious!
Anyway I'm going to repair the walls, paint, cut the trim and put it up.
I have never cut the trim work myself so this should be interesting.

I am also going to cut new shelves for the little closet to use as another pantry. I once used this closet to hide candy from Katie when she was little!

I just finished reading Glenn Beck's latest book
"The Christmas Sweater". It is a semi autobiography of Glenn's childhood with a special message that anyone can appreciate. I found it very moving and it touched my heart.
Now comes the hard part. Figuring out what to read next! My daughter Ginny suggested a book written about the love affair that Frank Loyd Wright had with his mistress. I never new that Frank had a mistress! Ginny says it's very good and I love Frank so I thought I might give it a read.

I was fortunate enough to tour a few of Franks homes including his own when I lived in Chicago. Simply amazing I tell you. His own home had a tree growing through it. It left me speechless!

I've also been working on transferring my hand written recipes from one book to another as I STUPIDLY used a pen that was not waterproof when I first wrote them down. How's that for brilliance?!

That should take a few month's!

And this my dear friends is exactly why I have not posted anything. There is just nothing going on up there in my noggin!

See I told you that I deserved the "Bad Blogger Award"!
No excitement or enlightenment's here.
I suppose as they say "No news, is good news" applies here.

I'll just stick with reading your post's until I can come up with something!

Happy January!

I find your "Lumping" quite interesting!

I think I might have read that book - a few years ago. It really was interesting & educational. There were pictures in it, too.

Your closet project is quite ambitious. Seems like you can do about ANYthing you set your mind to do!

Do I take this to mean you're feeling OK?

I must say that you're a very busy, industrious lump.

I was going to suggest the little mystery closet might be a pantry or pantry extension. I'd use it for that or for a kitchen linen closet since it in near there. I'm curious, too .... what is on the other side of that space? Is that whole area closet with a very small door, or is there something in that space on the left of the door, like part of another room or closet?

I love houses with "interest" and "personality" and yours sounds like that. How old is it? I have the impression it is older, because those are the ones with character. Very cool!

My recipes are mostly computerized, but I've printed out the ones I use regularly. Since the printer ink is not water-proof, I've slipped them into plastic page protectors and put them in a loose leaf notebook. That has worked well for me. However we do it, recipe files take upkeep and care, don't they?

BTW, I think most famous men had/have mistresses. It just seems to be so as one reads history. Kinda sad, isn't it?

Again, I don't think you deserve the Bad Blogger Award. And to prove it, I have sent you another one! Check my blog!

Hi Diana~
If anything, you deservre the Best Blogger Award! Even your musings are written with craft and skill. I always feel you create a conversation that one is immediately drawn into upon entering your blog. Keep up those pesonal notes!
As for projects, they all sound ambitious: I say start with the corner closet as you put the most enthusiasm into describing that one...
Love, Margaret

You are not a bad blogger at all my friend, at least you post. I haven't posted in over a week and have no idea when I will. I have appointments every day this week then going to my nephews on Friday to keep my niece for a week. I keep checking in on my friends as I truly miss you all when I am away. That is some project you are undertaking, good luck and I am looking forward to pictures of the finished project.
We are still heavy in snow and brutal cold but it is suppose to begin warming up tomorrow....yoo hoo going to be above zero.......:-)Hugs

Sounds like everyone there is well, and you are keeping very, very busy - always thinking of the next new project, Di. I think maybe you'll become a home remodeler in your next life! We're having a blizzard here - the best snow we've had so far this winter. We have feet already, and it's still snowing. Yippee!

Don't knock yourself about it. You don't deserve a "Bad Blogger Award", but instead a "Good at Living Real Life Award". There are priorities that need to be addressed and it sounds like you are taking care of yours.
I should be doing more of what you're doing.

You may have to share that bad blogger award with me Di. I've been busy catching up with my mail art and blogs of friend's, when I can, but visiting grandchildren come first. Rain overnight has melted some of our snow, but more is on the way, plus single digit temps.

I hope you know you don't really qualify for a bad award.....your posts are always written so well, Di...you have a way with words!

GET OUT!!! You are one of the BEST BLOGGERS! I laugh, I cry, the ordinary becomes EXTRAordinary, I'm interested in all your projects, and I love hearing about everything you and your family are up to!
I, on the other hand, have been terrible lately. Some of my family just chastised me on my 'Jayden' posts! As if anyone is going to be as interested in his life as me!
And, Di, do you know how many posts I have sitting in 'limbo' as 'drafts' gone unfinished??? I think I have more drafts than actual posts now!

You are a great blogger! And thanks for posting about those books. I know it's not very popular to like Glenn Beck right now, but I like the guy! I don't watch his show all that much, but when I do I bust out laughing all the time! I love the faces he makes, and I love his self-depreciation. I try to see the devil that others see in him, but I just don't get that at all, I don't see it.

I saw his book 'The Christmas Sweater' in a children's version and wanted to get it for Jayden but I didn't have my coupon with me, and I ended up not going back to the store. Sorry now I didn't pick it up when I had the chance.

Stay warm. Stay busy.
I think of you and all our bloggers often. But there is something about these winter months that is making me feel so disconnected, so I think I know a little of how you are feeling.
Seriously, there are many times when I feel like just throwing in the towel, and curling up, and cocoon myself away from the world. I get the idea of depression that so many suffer from, it's hard to reach out sometimes.
Feel good, Di.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

I'd say that was a pretty good posting considering you didn't have much to say. :)

I haven't read Glenn's Christmas Sweater yet but it's on my list. I love houses with little nooks and passages, they're all sorts of fun to check out.

Have a great Wednesday Diana!
