" Obsessed ? Or A Bit Crazy ? "

I'll let you be the judge!
While working in my yard today, the Fourth of July holiday, I was again very happy and surprised to see my friend , Mr. Toad.
I first noticed him underneath the little red flowers. As it was already very warm outside, I got the hose out and gently sprinkled water over the area. I also filled his little dishes with water as I read that toads like to have water around their area.

When the little fellow started to hop around, I got very excited and grabbed my camera.
Prepare yourself for this action packed video
experience!

And there you have it, part one of  "The Exciting Adventures of Mr. Toad "!

My husband, when asked if he thought me crazy, replied " I knew you were always a bit nuts!"

Mmmm. Well perhaps this is true. What I can't quite fathom is why such a little thing like this toad can get me so excited. I mean I understand that as I get older life seems a bit, how shall I put it?
Mundane. I don't surprise easily anymore. This is not to say that I don't enjoy life, it just doesn't seem so exciting as it used to be. And I suppose this is why God gave me grandchildren.

They have a way of bringing fun back into my life. Them and crafting, sewing, crocheting and painting. Which there doesn't seem to be enough time for lately.
So now, back to my latest obsession, Mr. Toad. I had to stop working in the yard just a bit ago after videoing Mr. Toad as it was just getting too hot. We are going to pick up some groceries today and I am going to try and find a little toothpick flag for his digs.

It is Independence Day after all and I am sure that he would also like to honor his American heritage!

I will leave you with part two of  "The Exciting Adventures Of Mr. Toad."

And then I'll let you be the judge. Obsessed, or a bit crazy?!

OMG, more action than a Jackie Chan movie!! LOL! I hate to admit it, but I captured part of the parade yesterday to document how horrible noisy the emergency vehicles were. Not sure I'll post it. We'll see.

Actually I enjoyed watching your little buddy!

Happy 4th!

Hello Di!

I have missed you so! And I must tell you, that I loved your blog today about Mr. Toad, I get excited over little perhaps, "odd" things like that too! That is a part of the spice of life that helps keep it 'less mundane' as we get older...I hope you and your family have a great 4th!!! I'm off to bbq, but will be putting up a blog tonight about our day...should be fun! Hope to hear from you soon...

I don't think you're crazy or obsessed! I like to think that now since we've done our most important job in life, mothering and nurturing our children, now we've got the time to enjoy nature and God's little creations. I personally never had the time before, now I've got it.

Hi Lois!
Thank you for not thinking me crazy! The funny and strange thing about Mr. Toad is that he seems to make an appearance while I am sitting and working around the area!
Love Di ♥

Hi Danielle,
I missed you too. I love reading your posts, I can't stay away for long though. I like to read what everyone is up to! It's nice to know that I am not the only one to enjoy a simple little toad! Love Di ♥

Hi Bill,
Well I'm no film maker thats for sure, but my husband said that he thinks Mr' Toad actually likes having his picture taken! And he said that I was nuts! Love Di ♥

You see Teresa, this is what happens when a woman has to much time on her hands and no one to talk too!
Truthfully, it's been a fun adventure watching him. I was worried about him leaving but Jake says that he likes that area! Love Ya, Di ♥

Hi Linda,
I love your way of thinking! And it is true, I do have more time now to enjoy the little things. When my kids were all home, I never even had time to plant a flower! Love Di ♥

Hi Brenda,
I am honored that I inspired a poem. I will be watching for it. There are a couple of still photos of him in a few posts back. You are more than welcome to use one if you like!
Love Di ♥

I do hope you get a photo or video of Mr. Toad in his abode, Di!

Do you check the toad house first thing each morning and last thing at night...do you sit there watching during the day or entice him with food...if not, then you're not obsessed...not yet anyway! :)

♥...Wanda

Hope it makes you smile!

That seems like more 4th of July excitement than one could stand. I know what you mean about the simpler things. I have a lizard who occasionally passes thru my backyard. I frequently look for it, but rarely see it. It would be difficult to video tape Mr. Lizard.

HI DI-

I love, love, love that youlove toads and especially this one. Your videos are wonderful as is the lovely home you created for Mr Toad.
ANd may I add/suggest, there is truly, absolutely and definitely a great 'Childrens Book' in this adventure of yours, Maybe it could be called "Mr Toad finds a home" Or "Mr Toads Adventure". Right?

Love you
Gail
peace and hope.....

Hi Diana!
Actually I AM REALLY ENJOYING your adventures with Mr. Toad!
Last year, I had a family of robins on my porch. I took photos and videoed them every day! I posted about my robins a lot... This year, no robin families around our house {I know they're out there, they gather worms around the yard all the time, but no nests that we can see}
I miss them this year... and your toad adventures are helping with that :D
We all love nesting and helping others nest too !

I'm sure it's warm where you are {90+ this week here in upstate, NY}

Happy Summertime week, Diana!
~Maria
ps. thank you for your kind visits! Your comments are always wonderful to receive ♥

I don't think you are crazy or obsessed, okay, well maybe a tiny bit obsessed...sort of like I am about my hawks. I would imagine that he would prefer his little house at night.
I forgot to tell you my own little toad story. Well, it's kind of long, so maybe I'll write about it on my blog on Whatever! Wednesday! Love visiting here...always fun! Love, Vicki
