" Excuses, Excuses !"

Good Evening Friends!
This is a very quick post this evening, first I want to apologize for my absence in visiting your blog posts. I will be by to visit each and everyone of you between this evening and tomorrow, I promise!!

As a stated last week, my Katie was to leave for Raleigh, North Carolina today. With my husband only being home one day this weekend and trying to get Katie's things together for her trip, well lets just say I'm a bit tired today.

My son Frank and I took Katie to the airport this morning. I went for a hug goodbye and got a pat on the back! I said "I love you, Kate!", and she didn't answer. I said " Don't you love your MaMa?" and she said "Yeah."!

It was all so emotional I'll tell ya! And I still had to hold back the tears. So off she went and here I sit! I do have many things to do this week including a sleepover with my granddaughter Sarah.

So that's the story folks, I hope you will excuse my absence, I will be around to check up on all of you so Ya better be good!

My oldest daughter Ginny, sent this photo to me just a bit ago.
Lets just call it..............  " Sisters" !

Hi Di, That's such a great photo of Ginny and Katie! Don't you know a teen can't show emotion in PUBLIC! Also, I bet she was a little nervous about the flight. Has she flown alone before? Today, Bob washed windows and just as he finished, it rained! However, now the pine pollen is off them. Hope you have a good week, Di. Relax while Katie is away!

Hi Barb,
Yes Katie flew down to N.C. last year as well. I have a feeling that it will be a yearly thing for her. I wouldn't be surprised if she moved there too!
We have had some blessed rain too! I was going to try and relax, that was the plan, but now it seems that I have several commitments!
Love Di ♥

Hi Wanda,
Not much work just a bit of family commitments. My DIL is having some exploratory surgery so thankfully, I am needed!
Love Di ♥

I remember how lonesome you got last year.....I hope you just enjoy the grandchildren and relax this year my friend. You so deserve a Spa Day..... oh Di, go for it, a real treat.
I hope your DIL makes out okay, I know you will help as much as you can.
Is Jake home this weekend?
Relax, have fun and before you know it Katie will be home. Sending big hugs to you....:-)

My verification word is topless, don't have that much fun....LOL

Love the "sister" photo! What a great "tradition" for the two of them. I know you'll be a huge encouragement to your DIL & will have great fun at your "sleepover". (Be sure to get a little SLEEP!

Hi Di,
I love the 'sister' photo, they are both so beautiful, and it looks like they get along great.

I just don't understand kids sometimes, but try not to take it personal. Public displays of affection are hard for teenagers, just not cool to kiss your mom in front of other people I guess.

Enjoy your time alone, and please don't get too lonely.

Hi Diana!
Yes... I'm with everyone here on how beautiful the girls are! And... what a CUTE photo... love the way they posed!

I think Barb hit the nail on the head with teens and public displays of "parental" affection :D
My son stopped big hugs for a while... now that he's 22, it's all good !

This stage of parenting has so much involved...
the comings and goings...
moving out / moving in...
everyone home / no one home,

Phew! enjoy the relief of rain and the quiet moments ~
{Wishing your DIL well}
Blessings always,
love, Maria

my word verif. is {moustst} ... not as much fun as Bernie's!

I suppose most teenagers are of the opinion that expressing love just isn't cool anymore. That's why I prefer little kids and dogs.

The way I see it, family comes before blogging. I'll be facing the same situation in the next couple of weeks as my daughters come in to visit. I'm preparing stories to post automatically, but I don't know how much commenting I'll be doing while they are here.

It's totally understandable. We all go through those times. I've been a terrible blog visitor the past couple weeks. I always come back.

Enjoy your week.

Your daughter is so pretty...:-)

Yeah, my dear Di, the hardest part is saying goodbye...I know Katie didn't answer you the way you wish she did because she too must be having a hard time being separated from you!

Well, that's just temporary. For me, I am already used to it re my two college kids!

Take your time and rest! We are just here. I am just here!

I'm catching up on blog reading today. Have been busy last couple days. What a darling photo!

Kids can cause us such frustration at times. We know Kate loves you--just not in the mood to show it; it happens.

Get some rest! And have fun with Sarah.
