"Surgery? Yes. How Many? Don't know yet."

Today was the day. The day that I took my Katie girl to the Ear, nose and throat doctor to find out why she can't breath very well.

We were there for two hours. Both of our stomachs letting the world know that we had no time to eat before the visit!
I was so hoping that the Doctor would tell us that Katie had a severe infection and would require more antibiotics but unfortunately this wasn't the case.

After a CT scan and poor yet brave Katie having a camera shoved all over up her nose, it was determined that she has two large cysts in her sinuses that are nearly blocking them off.
They AREN'T polyps. Polyps are growths. Cysts are fluid filled. By the way the Doctor did seem impressed that I new the difference! Little did he know that my husband had three nasal polyp surgeries and I have had cyst surgeries.

That's just between you and me, after all I feel that I deserve to feel somewhat intelligent at least occasionally!

So one week from tomorrow my baby, yes she still is my baby, will be having surgery. She will go home the same day. Her nose will be packed but she will have little tubes in them that will allow her to breath.

The Friday of the same week the packing will be removed and she can go back to school the very next Monday. Jeez, does it ever end! I feel awful for her. She appears to be fine with it but she was asking me exactly how he was going to do it.

The procedure didn't sound nearly as complicated as my husbands, yet I am sure that it won't be pleasant. Katie doesn't seem to be nervous, but when my husband asked me if he should come home for that day, Katie said yes.
Katie has never had a surgery and I am a bit uneasy. So we will pray, a lot. And I am sure that it will all go well. After all, people her age heal in about three minutes right?

Surgery, part two.

Ruby

Now here is my Ruby girl. Isn't she lovely? Eileen, I know you can appreciate her beauty!

Ruby has been having issues with her appendix. Well that's not what it's really called, but it is the equivalent to our appendix!

Tomorrow morning I have to take her for x-rays to see what the next step for her will be. She is only three years old and is a very sweet, energetic, loving, spoiled and jealous little dog.

So the drama continues. If you are ever bored please remember that you are always Welcomed to my world!

Di...I'm glad that they found the problem with Katie...and I do hope that all goes well with her surgery. Sure, she's nervous. I would be too...but she is looking to you and to your hubby for that comfort and reassurance, and I know that you'll give her both. Blessings to her and for her.
How about your ears. Did you ask the doctor about the ringing? If so, what did the doctor say?
I hope that Ruby gets well soon too. She is a cute dog...looks like she's full of love...and who wouldn't want to spoil her.
Love,
Jackie

Hi Jackie,
I have to go on the 11th for my ears, he thinks they need to be cleaned and said if the ringing didn't stop then, we'd go to the next step. Whatever that means!

Hi Di...if it will help at all tell Katie that my Katie had the same problem when she was 15 and had to have the same surgery...I hope she isn't too nervous about it.
So you may need to have your ears cleaned...if that were one of us, I know you would say something funny Di, but I won't. Hope Ruby gets ok too.
We need warmer weather for everyone to get well.
Take care...Wanda

Hi Jerelene,
I am dreading tomorrow. They will have to give Ruby something to calm her and I don't like when they do that. They have no idea why we are there or what is going to happen. I know we have to help them but I'm always afraid that they will feel that we are abandoning them!

Oh, Di, the old saying "It never rains, it pours" was made up with you in mind!
I just saw on Facebook that you had posted on your blog so I had to run right over here. And of course I couldn't access you right away! Blogger! (Do you know I use that as a curse word now whenever I'm angry at something? Oh, Blogger!)

Poor Katie! I would not be looking forward to that surgery at all, but more than poor Katie ~ POOR DIANA! I think it's so much worse being the Mommy and doing all the worrying!
For sure you and Kate will continue to be in my prayers.

AND Ruby too. BEAUTIFUL Ruby! She really must be the twin sister to my little Pugsley! Every time I look at her picture I see him and miss him. Keep us posted on her.

Keep us posted on everything!

Um, talk about not living a boring life!
Serenity now!

I'm heading to bed, I'm tired, but I'm so glad I was able to get here first. I didn't want to have to wait until morning.

Love to you,
Eileen

Hi Maria,
Yes I will be happy when this is all over with and Katie van breath again.
As for Ruby, she has these intestinal attacks about once a month, so it's time to take care of it. Thank you for prayers!

Hi Eileen,
Never a dull moment! I just want everyone to feel better again. I want Katie to be able to breath and Ruby not to have her little intestinal attacks.
I feel horrible for both but can you imagine not being able to breath? I went through it with Jake only his was worse, what a nightmare! I don't want Katie to get to that point!
Serenity Now! LOve Di

Keeps you hopping - all this running, and nursing, and caring...Please take care of YOURSELF.

Have you ever tried to record your "ear ringing"? Maybe you could tweek it, take it to a recording studio, hire a manager and take your show on the road! After you've taken care of Ruby and Katie, of course!

Oh, my, Di - your family has gone through so much the last few months. Has Katie had to miss a lot of school already? (Of course as a former teacher, I'm always wondering about this.) I'll be thinking of all of you - including poor Ruby!

Oh Barb,
Our family has been through a lot in the last twenty plus years! If it's not one thing it's another, which is probably why I am so good at laughing at things!
Katie hasn't missed any school but for a few days when she had whatever it is that we had! Supposedly, she will only miss three days of school for the surgery!
Love Di

What a sweet dog you have and I am so glad that the vet will be able to help her, our pets are family as well and I know how much you love her.
Now you......well just go clean out your ears, we want to talk to you.......luv you.....:-) Hugs

Oh dear Di, this doesn't sound like a good time at all! Poor Katie, Poor Di, Poor Dad! oh dear! If the doctor would have told me to get my ears cleaned I would have said, "well clean them" how long could that have taken. Heck I clean my ears every day and I have a siren ringing in them ALL THE TIME! Some times it is so loud I feel like screaming HUH!!!!! but I was told it has a lot to do with meds too. Who knows? Good luck to you! I will keep you in my prayers....and Katie too!

Diana! I earnestly pray that all troubles big and small leave you and your family immediately. I would most definitely ask God to make everything right with you and your family! All shall be well. Just keep the faith

Oh what a worry for a sweet Mom like you. Of course you are feeling anxious. That's what we do when it is our children. Don't forget to breathe.
