" Thanksgiving Day " by Diana

The turkey is being trussed,
the pies are being planned.

A day of gratitude
will soon spread over
this land.

The hams will be hot,
the rolls steaming too.

Mom and dad will be busy,
what will you do?

Some will be rooting
for their favorite team.

I will be praying for
the ham to be lean.

Sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes
with gravy on top.

It's all so good,
but now I must stop.

Whats that you say?
Pumpkin pies on the way!

So much for the diet,
tomorrows another day.

Hugs and kisses,
so many abound.

Grandmas and grandpas,
are always around.

Prayers of thanksgiving
is why we are here.

We'll see you again,
same time next year.

I wish everybody a wonderful and loving
Thanksgiving Day!

Love Di

To celebrate the day
And I'd like to add, if I may
It makes me happy just to say...

Di, I just read your Fall poem on 'Imperfect Women'! I was so happily surprised to see you there!

Did you submit this one too? You should! I haven't gone to the Thanksgiving articles yet, I'm tired and I'm heading up to bed now, but I'll try to check in there tomorrow if I have time.

Love you lots!, E

I am off in a hurry out this work day door to visit the "little rascals" up North. Last minute decision. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and thank you for being such a great friend this last year! I so enjoy my village friends! That is what I am thankful for! hugs....

What a well-crafted poem! Your thanksgiving wish is received and returned to you, Di. What a wonderful season we are in. Regardless of our circumstances, God has blessed us with many things to be grateful for. I'm thankful (among so MANY things) for the restorative powers of sleep and hoping for a short nap this afternoon!
