Another " Sneak Peek "

I was going to wait until everything was done in the " Living Room", But I thought " What the heck!".

Here is the" before"......

Please keep in mind that at the time the above photo was taken, we were in the middle of taking everything out of the room so it is just a tiny bit of a mess !

O.k. are you ready ?

Oh and before I forget, if you notice in the "after" photo ( I don't know if it is showing or not ) we still have not put the floor trim back on the walls. The reason being that we are going to paint the floors a dark coffee bean color.

This will most likely not be done for a while as we work slowly! We are old. And we just aren't as flexible as we used to be.

So how was your weekend? It rained a lot here. Yes Southern Illinois is looking very green and lush. The sun was out for a good part of today and then the clouds came back and " Here comes the rain again" !

I don't mind though as , what's that you say?

Get on with it already!?

Oh I'm sorry, you were waiting for the "After" Photo weren't you? Silly me, I guess I just forgot!!!!!!!

Alright already you don't have to get so huffy!

And now Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the "After" photo of the same corner as the above photo. Are you ready?

Are you sure?

O.k. here ya go.............

Ta Da !! This is all that I can show right now as we still have more details to go. My husband is supposed to hang the Gigantic, big mirror this weekend that he fears will not only rip off part of the wall over the fireplace, but will shatter into billions and billions of pieces.

Me thinks he worries too much, like I have room to talk!

Just a few more things after that and I will be able to post some more photos.

I hope that you enjoyed the change as much as I do !

Thanks for visiting.

It's lovely Di, removing those radiators really helped the windows. They are a nice focal point now. I remember those mirrors from another post!

With a few candles glowing on the warmly painted walls, you'll think you're in Tuscany sitting at a window table.
Nice view of the room.

Love Ya, Di ♥

Hi Wanda,
Well a Tuscan feel was exactly what I was going for. I can imagine!

Yes the radiators being gone makes a huge difference. The room seems larger and I love being able to access the blinds easier. Short arms ya know!

Diana, oh sweetie it looks lovely. Doesn't even look like the same room. You did a wonderful job and I knew you would. So happy for you. Makes me want to paint down stairs now even though I am waiting until next Spring. I really love the new look at your house. Luv ya.......:-) Hugs

Hi Bernie,
Thank you for your kind words as I am no decorator that's for sure! But it sure does look a lot better then before. And I am very happy with it!

Goodness, removing the radiators and warming the room with that paint really transformed it, Di. All your (and Jake's) hard work has paid off. I think you'll really enjoy it - it seems so light and airy. My husband wants to stain our wood floors dark, too - I dread the mess!

BEAUTIFUL!!
I love it, Di!
I have a very similar color in my kitchen (although I did a faux finish).
Yours looks so pretty, and so fresh and clean looking, and so warm and inviting!

It would be nice to sit at that table by the window and share a conversation over a cup of coffee!
Oh well, posting and commenting will have to suffice.

Great job!
I can't wait to see more!

Love to you, E

Di....a wonderful job! Give Jake a biiiig hug...and you deserve one, too. The room is beautiful...and what a great 'before' and 'after' photo to show the differences.
You 'toyed' with us a bit....making us wait...but it was fun...and worth the wait.
(Love the drapes and sheers!)

Looks good. Some jobs do seem more ponderous as we age. Make that every job.

I LOVE it! Especially with the contrast of the black chairs. Beautiful. So warm and inviting.

Diana, I love the new room, especially the color, it is so warm and inviting. I just wanted to let you know that I will be thinking of you on Mothers Day, I know it will be hard for you. My Dad died suddenly last May and all these firsts are hard. thoughts and prayers to you my friend. hugs.

Wow, that is a huge difference. Taking that radiator out was a great choice. Can't wait to see the rest.

Barb,
We thought of restaining the floors but decided that was way too much work and much to expensive to have done professionally. Our son had painted his old wood floors and it looks great so we are going to paint them, not as hard as staining!

Hi Jackie,
I will hug Jake after the mirror is hung LOL!!! I was a bit nervous about the drapes after we painted, wasn't sure they'd match as I originally thought that they would! But thank heaven they did! Love Ya, Di ♥

Lisa,
That table and chairs was my outdoor set that we bring in every winter. We liked it so much inside that we just kept it in the room!

Hi Cinner,
Well I will pray for both of us. I am not looking forward to Mother's Day. It's the unexpected that I fear. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Oh Jules I've wanted those radiators out for years! It was such a hard job for my husband and son, I am grateful to them both! Love Di ♥

Holy! Moly! What a difference! Just one question...now that you don't have those radiators...how do you heat your house?

I would love to sit at that table with you by the window and chat, and it does have that Tuscanny look! We could dream away...and you should too.

It always amazes me what a little paint can do...I love the new look Di. Hope you are feeling better....how are your knees?

Hi Teresa,
The radiators have been disconnected for many many years. We have removed five of them since we have lived here but it is a very HEAVY and huge job. The pipes under the floors have to first be cut out. It's a lot of hard, long and dirty work. We have them all out of the downstairs now but still have three upstairs, which as far as I'm concerned can stay. I really wouldn't expect my husband and son to lug those down the stairs!

We have a regular furnace for heat.

I would love to sit and chat while pretending to be in Tuscany with you!

Love Di ♥

Hi Dee,
Thank you so much. I hope Frank is feeling well. Love Di ♥

Thank you Janine! I am very pleased so far with the results. Believe it or not I still have quite a few things to hang yet some of which I will need Jake's help with. Hopefully it will all get done this weekend it being Mother's Day and all!!!!!!
