Recently my daughter Ginny did an interview which you can see on her blog ,
" Ginny from the Blog " , (click for link) with the author of a very interesting experimental blog . The author's name is Frank Warren and his blog is titled
" Post Secrets " (click for link).
It is quite interesting and it does contain adult content . However Frank's concept is novel and fresh . Let me know what you think .

Ginnie is a great interviewer and asked good questions, but when I went to his website and started reading some of the postcards...there was some pretty graphic and nasty stuff.
Wish he could just delete those that are out for total vulgarity, sensationalism and shock value because those people belittle the others with real needs and problems.
On the up side it is great that funds are going to help prevent suicides.
blessings and lots of hugs,
marcy
Hi Diana-
When I click on the link I can't get to it. :-( Also, I left you a reply on the post before this one in response to your 2 comments. I left my email for you. k?
Love you
Gail
peace.....
Hi Marcy,
I knew it would be a little too much for you that's why I warned you! But it is an interesting concept none the less. It is definitely not for kids, but I can't help but wonder if this has helped any of these people to unburden themselves ?

Hi Gail,
I did get your comment and I am sorry that I haven't answered sooner but Katie has been home sick all week and I have been very busy. She is still home! Some nasty virus.
Did you click on "Post Secrets" ? I just tried it again and it worked for me but if you still can't get there it is postsecrets.com/
Try it again and let me know.

Diana, I am unable to get Ginny's interview....I want to see it. I didn't mind the other video, yes it was graphic but I have to believe that voicing their feelings has had to help them. I think an open mind, an informed person makes for an awareness in this world we all need.
Please tell me how to see Ginny's interview, I went to her blog but couldn't find it.
Luv you.....:-) Hugs
Hi Bernie,
I just checked Ginny's blog and it's still on there so if you go back to her blog and scroll down to the third story, there is a video screen that says 30 threads on it. Just click in the middle of the screen. That should do it.
Even though it says 30 threads it is still on "Ginny From the Blog".
I think that Franks experiment is very interesting and was amazed at how much it had grown!

Hi Diana I just watched Ginny's interview...she did a great job...I have read of this unusual site and the idea behind it...similar to writing someone a letter, telling them just what you think when angry and then just burning it...releases your stress of the frustration of hoding it in. :)
Hi Wanda,
I would imagine it would help many people. Especially the ones that hold everything inside. I am an open book!!! I have never felt the need to hide things but I know that so many people suffer with secrets and have no one to talk to.

After that I had to take a look.
It was interesting but other people's secrets aren't my cup of tea.
I think I'll pass and let the adult content to those who like adult content :)
Hi Dr. John,
I didn't really care about other peoples secrets, I just thought that it was a very unusual and different concept. Love Di
Oh Rebecca it wasn't anything pornographic or anything just not something you would want your kids to read. I hope you at least got to hear the interview so you had an idea of what this blog is about.
But if not don't worry it's no big deal. Love Di
Hi Diana. How nice for Frank to give Ginnie his trust...the phone...and...a great interview. I agree with Ginnie that he was an interviewer's dream...He actually answered the questions! :))...and spoke in a clear understandable way for the viewers. He has an interesting experiement going, and to hear that he receives 250 postcards a day is amazing. Wow!
I do hope that Katie is feeling better. I know that you are taking the best care of her. Give her a hug for me.
It kind of reminds me of Confession, only maybe even more honest, because it's confessing something and being honest about the fact that you're not sorry for it and most likely will do it again in many cases.
I wonder how many people out there would be more honest if they could remain anonymous. I kind of always felt that way about Confession too, I think it's a lot easier to confess my sins in a darkened Confessional box with my face obscured behind a screen than it is to sit face-to-face with the Priest in a brightly lit 'Reconciliation Room'!
These people obviously feel a need to be honest about things, feel a need to put it in print, and feel a need for someone to read it! I find it amazing!
I wonder if the Catholic Church would go for that! People could mail in their sins!
Nah, I guess not.
I think that this guy is doing a service to a lot of people though, you never know how many people are reaching out, and maybe just the fact that they are putting their thoughts down on paper is a help to them, sometimes just expressing yourself is therapeutic.
It must be hard for him to read some of these messages, when someone is being so brutally honest. I've often thought that about Priests in the Sacrament of Confession too, they must hear all sorts of things, and I've thought that about Pastors and therapists too, it must be hard to be in those professions sometimes.
He seemed like a nice, caring guy and I thought Ginny did a great job interviewing him. Glad he was so cooperative with her!
'Hope Katie is on the road to recovery!
Thanks for your emails!
Love you!, E
Hi Eileen,
Katie is still sick and I am probably taking her back to the doctor. We are waiting on the second test for strep.
I loved your insightful comment! I know that our pastor (even though we're not Catholic) hears many things from our members. And it has to be difficult for him as well. He is trained for that though but still has to be hard at times.
I hope Ray is doing better.
Love Di
Hi Diane...
I actually saw info about this before... surprisingly at
(In)Courage
... one of their authors: Anne Jackson
I remember when I read them, I thought hmmmm ... at a Christian woman's site? but I can see how if people don't release what's on their chest, things never get discussed, resolved... forgiven... confirmed...
Who knows? People are trying to help... hopefully going the way to truth.
interesting post, Diane
hahahaah...cute baby ... thanks diana, for posting this .. yeah will visit ur daughter's blog..:) thanks for the introduction :)
Ginny did a great job!!! And she has an impressive blog!!! You must be so proud of her!!! ~Janine XO
Di, where are you?
I hope you are just busy having fun, getting ready to celebrate with your family for your daughter-in-law's birthday! Have fun!
And I hope Katie is all better now!
Thinking of you!
Love you!, E
