" Anybody Gotta a Clue ?"

O.k. so I'm not going to do a St. Patrick's Day post for tomorrow. But I do have something green for you today!

I took my dogs out today for the first time in a week. My ankle is getting better but I still can't be on it too much. It's a tendon thing! Anyway I do pretty well as long as I am careful and don't stand for too long, and the range of motion is slowly coming back. I am being very cautious with it so as not to injure it again. I can't stop dreaming about riding that bike!

My husband had noticed a plant coming up in the yard last weekend. He had asked if I knew what it was since I know where all of the perennials are located. I told him that I hadn't a clue as to what it could possibly be.

So today when I had Ruby outside this is what I saw.....

To me it looks like some sort of spring flower like maybe a Hyacinth.
But really I don't have a clue. The bud on it isn't that of a tulip although the leaves resemble one. I have some Easter Lilly's coming up and some Daffodil's. But they are no where near this unidentified plant!

So what do ya think? Anybody got a clue?

I don't know what it could be either Di, oh I don't do St Patrick's Day Either. My Scots Nature you know. I don't even do Robbie Burns either.

They do look like tulip leaves. A species tulip maybe? Keep us updated.

Sorry Di, I only drive a bus, I am not a Botanist. You could as Quilly as her Amoeba is into all things floral and planty.

Hi Di...
I'm very sorry about your ankle; I'm just getting caught up reading blogs (hospital stays seem to be something I will keep on my calendar now...)...and I didn't know about your ankle...your new bike....
You look great on the bike, and I can't wait until you get to feeling like you can get back out and ride again. I'm not riding mine either right now....so, shall we mourn together...sigh.
I wish I could help you regarding the plant, but I don't recognize it.
I send you a big hug, Di. Take care of yourself, please.
Love,
Jackie

Well shut my mouth, I forgot to mention that I had found some more spring flowers in the yard that my granddaughter gave me for mother's day last year. They were Hyacinths.
This plant is in a different spot but I may have just forgot that I planted it there! See Eileen isn't the only one to forget things! But I could be wrong so please let me know if I am.
Love Di ♥

They are Hyacinths. My botanist/oceanographer mate walked into the house tonight after work, glanced at the photo up on my monitor, mumbled, "Hyacinths'" then asked, "What's for dinner?"

I think you are right Di, it does look like a Hyacinths (Wanda will know for sure)
I am so happy that your ankle is better, very soon you will be on your bike. Luv ya.......:-) Hugs

Looks like Hyacinth to me...but I'm no expert...So glad your ankle is doing better, Di!!!! Hurrah!!! Hopefully, you'll be able to ride your bike soon!! Fun post!! I love guessing games ;-) Love you, Janine XO

I enlarged the photo, Di - it certainly looks like a Hyacinth. Be careful walking on that ankle outside on uneven surfaces. If a tendon is stretched, it takes awhile to heal. You don't want a further injury to keep you from the bike!

See, you finally remembered!

I was going to say the leaves looked like a tulip but the bud reminded me of hyacinth.
Keep posting pictures, it will be fun to see it grow and bloom!

I guess your dogs are very well behaved, because if I were nursing a hurt foot, I would not be able to be walking my dogs until it was healed. My dogs would take off if they ever saw another dog (or cat, or bird, or anything moving), and I be pulled all over the place! It wasn't too bad with the little ones, but the yellow lab was really strong and I had no control over him!

Feel better, Di!
Love to you,
Eileen

So happy to hear that your ankle is getting better. No time at all and you will be on the bike and be sure to put a bell or something on it, ring it every once in a while so I can hear you coming down the street. I would love to meet up with you and go for a ride! It totally sucks getting older doesn't it!

I came to see what the experts said it was. So hyacinth it is!? Are all hyacinths purple? I went out to see if I had any, but our yard seems to be pubescent compared to all the others!

mariel said...

maybe it was just a little g green for you from the Lord to say He was thinking of you! :)

Definetly a Hyacinth.
I thought you were going to show us a picture of your ankle turning a lovely shade of green.

I'm glad you're feeling better. And, perhaps you didn't plant a hyacinth in that spot. I don't do bulb perennials but maybe it traveled on the wind or a squirrel?? Not sure.

Mar said...

Hi. Sorry about your painful ankle, but glad it's getting better. In the Name That Plant Contest, others beat me to it, but my first guess about your mystery plant, was Hyacinth, and definately NOT a mind-altering plant! LOL!!! Take good care of yourself my friend. <3 Mar
