There is a blogger named Ginny. You can find her here
You may recognize her as my daughter.

She is a coffee fanatic and when she recently pulled into the Starbucks drive thru,
she wasn't very happy about the menu change.
So she blogged about it. You can read it on the above link.
The Consumerist read her blog and picked up on it.
Then MSNBC picked it up.
Then the News and Observer picked it up.
And now, Starbucks has changed their menu back to the way it was.
It only takes one person.
Well at least one frustrated, coffee drinking person,
to change things!
Way to go Gin!!!

How cool is that?
Which only proves it doesn't take a big committee or group of people to bring about change--one person does make a difference! Kudos to your daughter.
You have a Celebrity Blogger in the family, Di! I wonder if she's had any offers to pay for her coffee! It's neat that they picked up on her post. You never know who's watching and reading...plus, just what it might lead to!
Oh Starbucks, yeah? Been there last month when I went to the city to visit my college kids...:)
Is there a difference between here and there of what Starbucks serves?
Your daughter must be commended for making the brave nerve to put the complaint in the limelight! :)
We forget that we have a voice, I think. It is good when things happen like this and we know we've made an impact! Good for Ginny!
It is surprising how our electronic communications are tracked, read and responded to! Twice I've mentioned something in my blog and was then contacted by the company. One was a grouse about my phone/DSL provider, and the reached me to to work out the problem (it was actually already near corrected), and the second was recently when I was invited to give a testimonial after I use the product just purchased. Amazing.
All I can say is "Wow!" The dream of most serious bloggers is to get picked up by the media. She may have her own Drudge-style blog soon.
I'll check it out.

Tossing It Out
Di...I visited all the links and I am sooooo proud of Ginny...sooooo very proud. Would you pass the news on to her. I frequent Starbucks often....and I usually get the "Tall"....which is the "Small"....and am livid that they removed that size...and am more than excited that Gin picked up on it....took photos and blogged about it...and made a difference! I am so proud of her. I know that you are, too, Di. Great blog....both of you!!!
Love,
Jackie

Hi Diana!
Oh my goodness... I love your "Best Laid Plan" posts... and glad you're feeling a better!
Looking forward to hearing about Katie's surprise event!
appliances... they just don't make 'em like they used to!
Our four year old stove has rust all around the glass door! Sears replaced it once already {under warranty} now...the cost is on us!
Good luck with your dryer!
Your posting about Ginny's Starbucks coffee sent me off for an hour reading up on her posts and watching the funny youtube video posted with one of the articles. Then I watch more youtube comedy about Starbucks... and I'm back at your blog after an hour LOL!
Have a Happy weekend Diana!
~love~
Maria
