" M.I.A.? "

Again I find myself being a horrible Blogger. While I haven't been " Missing in Action " completely, I've been finding it more and more difficult to post these days.

I so admire those of you that post everyday or even just every week. I just seem to get so busy and then when I feel like posting, I don't feel as though I have anything important to post about! Such is the case today. Nothing really important but quite a lot has been going on around here.

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. Jake and I went to the theater to see " Dark Shadows "...

We really enjoyed the movie. Johnny Depp was excellent in the role as Barnabas Collins and the movie was done in true soap opera style. Very funny and enjoyable. It's been a few years since we've been to the theater together so it was like a real date !! Of coarse we ate lots of Popcorn and I had my Sno-Caps and Jake had his Chocolate covered Peanuts. We shared a giganto soda.
Sometimes you just have to splurge!!

After the movie we took a long walk ( Kate had the car) over to "Buffalo Wild Wings"...

We had never been there before. Did you know that you can get three free beer samples there? We didn't. So we had our samples, that was fun, and a couple of bottles with our wings. The wings are amazing!! We called Kate to have her come and meet us there. She had Mango Habenjero dipping sauce with her wings. It was very tasty but a bit too hot for this MaMa!! I stuck with my Blue Cheese sauce. It was all very delicious and we had a great time, just the three of us. Our other teen was at work that day.

Later that evening we grilled Ribs. I made baked potato wedges to go with the ribs. Salad too. All very good. The other teen came come that evening and we all had a great time outside just enjoying this awesomely wonderful weather we've been having.

This past weekend brought more happy, memorable, summer fun. We went to watch our granddaughter Sarah play ball. She is very serious about her game...

Thank Goodness her team won 28-29 as she was spending the night at our house that evening. She was so, so tired after that game !!

When we got her to our house and fed her, she perked up. Or it may have been after the milk shake Aunt Katie brought home for her !!

Another fun evening was had. The weather again was perfect. We sat outside and watched Sarah do all of her tumbling. I was amazed at how graceful she was. It was fun to watch.

When we went inside for the evening Sarah wanted grandma to braid her hair so it would be wavy in the morning. I used to braid Ginny and Katie's hair the same way.

It was a fun and busy day...

See what happens when you become a bad Blogger like me? You go on and on until people get tired of reading your post !!

I did something this week that I haven't done except when I've been in the hospital. I took a week off of work just so I can play in my yard and do things around the house.

I'm sitting in the the yard on the deck right now and it's just gorgeous outside. I've been out here since 6:00 a.m. Washed my car. Did a little shopping. Put some more yard ornaments out.

It's been almost the perfect week. The only thing missing is my husband. I really wish he were sitting with me right now.

I'm already looking forward to the weekend when he comes home again. I wonder what this weekend will bring?

I wonder if it will take me weeks to post again?!

Oh well such is life, see ya!!

D...It was worth the wait, my friend. Worth the wait.
This is a beautiful blog, and I enjoyed being at the theater, the game, going out to eat with you, home on the deck with you...all of it. I truly did.
Your photos are great! They look professionally done...especially the ones of Sarah in the dugout and at bat. Great photos!!
I smile a great big smile thinking of you and Jake on your date. What a lovely time you must have had. I don't have much to blog about, and don't blog often, but when I do, I know that I am sharing my joys and my sometimes my down moments with my blogging friends...and I count you among them, Di. You know that I do.
I have had that dreaded "tummy" bug since Monday. I'm beginning to get over it this evening, but I've been spending most of the time in bed just trying to make it through all the awful symptoms that come with it. I haven't been sick like this in a long time, and maybe this will do it for me for a few more years. Here's hoping.
I send you hugs and love...loving every word and photo on your blog. Love you!

There you are, Di! I've been wondering about you. I loved your upbeat post. Glad you're taking some time for yourself. Our spring has been awesome, too. I'm riding my bike to Vail tomorrow with Bob. I actually cleaned today - I thought of you!

I know what you mean about finding the time to blog. I just came in from my front porch a few minutes ago, Di...the low humidity makes it nice to be outside. Sarah looks like she has a good swing with that bat. Alivia just finished her first year of playing soccer. Continue to enjoy the nice weather, Di!

I definitely understand about going AWOL! That's for sure! And then it seems like so much time has passed, and so much has happened you just don't know where to begin and end!
I'm mad at myself because I really wanted to keep a 'family album' blog going for the grandkids, so then I resolved I would start again, but now I got a message saying I can't upload any more photos! So now I have to decide whether to start a whole new blog with a new blogger ID or call it quits altogether!

Well, it was so nice to catch up here with you, and I loved reading about your 'date'! (I used to watch 'Dark Shadows' faithfully!) AND SNOW CAPS!!! I loved them!

And it was fun to read about you braiding Sarah's hair (I used to do the same thing to my own hair!), I'd love to see a picture of the results! Braiding was always so much easier for me rather than rolling my hair up in orange juice cans, and I liked the wavy/frizzy sort of look much better anyway (and it was easier to sleep in braids too!).

So glad to hear about your nice weather and that you are out and about and enjoying your life. I often think about that when people don't blog anymore, I imagine they are just enjoying the 'real world' rather than the 'cyber world' now.

But then when I'm away I feel like I miss so much (and I HAVE ~ marriages, and divorces even in just a few short months!), and I can't believe how much Sarah has grown (and Wanda's Alivia too) in these few months! I love the photo of Sarah sitting on the bench in her uniform, she does look very serious, and she has such a beautiful profile! Great picture!

And that's okay if you go missing for awhile again, I'll check back every once in awhile to see if you've posted. We should all make a pact to post at least a few times a year so we can all play 'catch up'!

Your blog is so pretty! I never fiddle with mine anymore, I just can't be bothered ~ NOW THAT'S A BAD BLOGGER!

Take care, Di! It was good to hear from you!
Love you lots, E

I don't put a lot of thought into being a "good" blogger or a "bad" blogger. I blog when I feel like it. Lately, with going back to work post-retirement, I feel a bit ore tired, so I blog less, but comment more. And I expect others to do the same. As blog when they feel like it.

Yours is always an interesting blog to check. What with your adventures, and those of your family, it seems there is a lot going on. Which seems good.

Blessings and Bear hugs.

I know what you mean about blogging! I tried early on to do a daily devotional, but I'm just not that creative. Now it's generally a once a week post with "Silent Sunday"!

I always so enjoy visiting your blog. I feel as if I'm at your kitchen table sharing a cuppa coffee and 'life'. Hugz!

Okay, I'M the idiot!! I told you I was a BAD BLOGGER! I forgot to add the 'follower gadget'! It's done now for next time you visit. Sorry. (And Jackie was already listed! How'd she do that??!!)

Anyway, while I was here I read back a little (quickly before EĆ³ghan wakes up from his nap!), and I love all your landscaping, and seeing your family gathering, and Ginny's surprise! That was so sweet!

Don't worry about not stopping by my place, I know how busy life gets! 'Just post once in awhile so I can see what you're up to, and stop by anytime you are free. I almost feel like we're having little 'chats', it's nice, and I've missed it.

Don't worry about blogging. It's supposed to be fun (isn't it?) so do it for fun when you feel like it. :)

I like blue cheese with my wings, too. Your grand children are precious!

Hi Di: I used to blog every day or at the very least every other day. It got to be too much so now I have a rule...thee days between entries for me.
One little hint I might make is that you often put a whole bunch of interesting things in one entry (such as this one) & it really could be broken into 4 or 5 smaller entries ... with days inbetween. Also, I have a file and when I get an idea I type it up and put it there...then I can grab which one I want when the 4th day comes.
All that aside it sounds like you had a fun and relaxing day. Yeah!
