" Blogger Block "

I like to be entertaining, somewhat, when I blog. I know that I don't have to be. From what I have seen, I can say anything that I want to. However, I choose not to bore people with the nastiness of life. After all we see that everyday. My problem seems to be Blogger Block. You know, like writers block. It is a very good thing that I don't get paid to write, for I would have been fired by now! I don't know how my daughter Ginny comes up with new things to write about. But then again I can't envision Ginny with a lack of something to say.

I will blame it on the heat I think. Yes that is what I will do. It has no feelings to get hurt. It is succeeding in it's own way to melt my brain. Turn it to mush. Similar to the time when my children were small, when they would nurse I always said that they were sucking the brains right out of my head. Oh the sacrifices we make for our children.

That's it. The heat. It makes me feel like a snail. Slow. Very slow. And while I have many projects floating around in my brain, my physical being has no desire to move. Alright, I'm going to give you the heads up. Cover your ears, well your eyes would probably be a better idea in this case, if you are a summer lover. I love the fall. Actually I prefer winter to summer also. Ah but since I can remember, fall has always been the time of year that excites me. Yes you heard me right. Excites.

It isn't only the pleasant temperatures that I so enjoy, but also the smells and tastes of fall as well. Apples and cinnamon. Burning leaves. Pumpkin pie. Leaves crunching under your feet. And those beautiful colors. Reds, oranges and vivid yellows. I prefer wearing a sweater to a tank top. My soft, cozy slippers to bare feet. Halloween and Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of all. Giving thanks for family and friends. Celebrating those people that mean the most to us. No gift giving involved. Just sincere gratefulness for what the Lord has bestowed upon us. It doesn't get any better then that.

I apologize if I have bored you. My thoughts can not help but turn to cooler weather. I sit hear pondering what the CEO'S of our local power companies are going to be doing with their yearly bonuses as we struggle to pay to keep our houses comfortable. I can't help but to daydream about opening the windows and doors again! Oh dear, I said I wouldn't bore you with the nastiness of life and here I go on about the lovely utility companies that are trying to , oh never mind. I am sorry. I will go outside today to look at my flowers. But I have to warn you that I will be daydreaming about fall!

I DO love all those things as well...it's just that I am in love with Spring and always have been! Flowers everywhere, veggies, even wildlife seems to wait for Spring to have those darling babies.

As for bloggers block...think that is pretty popular or you wouldn't be seeing all these meme and days when we people post about a certain thing, like Wordful Wednesday random poems or Friday favorites or Monday miseries or Tuesday toothpicks or Thursday thumbs 9can you tell I'm making some of these up?)
How about if we do a number blog, say on Thursday and we start with one thing that we find interesting/unusual/annoying/funny and then the next Thursday we have to find two?

Love that picture you found and you did do a cute post after all!

blessings with hugs,

marcy

Oh, Diana, I am blaming the rain for my lack of blogging, and you are blaming the heat! I love it!

I hadn't seen a post from you earlier and I got a little worried! I just asked at Marcy's place where you were! I'm happy to hear from you even if it's just that you have blogger block (love that term!), mine's not blocked, mine's just laziness!

I agree with you about Fall, I always loved the crisp, autumn air, the colors, the rustling brown leaves that fall to the ground, Thanksgiving, pumpkin picking, baking apple pies, family gatherings, I just love it all!

Nice post! I enjoyed it!

Hi Diana, I love all seasons, but the Fall is my favorite time of year as well. I was marriend in September so we could enjoy the foliage on our honeymoon. So crisp and clear, I love it. Your post are always great, I love coming here and you can say whatever you want. Mine are just my typical days and I have no talent nor am I creative yet I still slog on. It's beacause of wonderful people like you my friend...I hope it cools down a bit and you have the most wonderful day.... :-) Hugs

Oh dear. Why is it getting so hot in the US? I thought it was a cool country!

It does make you sluggish I agree. I see it every year :) Keep the air conditioning up and enjoy having water melons, mangoes and cool cucumbers :)

I've been suffering from a Blogger's block for a long time now. I was wiser before the wisdom tooth made an appearance!

Take care Diana :)

You NEVER bore me. I love the fact that I have you as a friend. No words needed.....but yours are always lovely.
I have BB all the time!!!
I just chatter on....(and I'm really a shy person...people don't believe that...but I have to 'get to know' one before I 'chat'....and I'm the kind of person that will go to the corner of the restaurant to a table not very noticeable...not wanting attention drawn to myself. But, like I said in my 10 Honest Things about Myself on my blog, I hold my friends dear. I count you as one. Any and all suggestions as to how to get over BB would be appreciated by me as well....and I have only been blogging for about 2 weeks (maybe not even that long.)
Hugs to you, Diana.
Smiles from Jackie

Marcy, I too have been trying to come up with different subjects for different days, but my brain is being fried right now so I will have to get back to you on that!

Eileen, I live for fall every year. You should see our house on Halloween. It was once featured in our local paper on the web. We all have fun with that. Even my husband!

Bernie, My husband and I were married in December. We both like the cooler weather. I am glad that we all found each other Bernie. Not only is it interesting reading about everyone else it's the camaraderie that we all share!

Stillness, THANK YOU, I am so glad I am not the only one that gets blogger block! And you are right, I don't remember being any smarter before the wisdom teeth were pulled! I think you should just have that baby yanked out!

Jackie, I read the book blogging for dummies! That would be me! In it they suggested that you sit with pen and paper and write down different ideas as they come. This way when you do get BB, you can refer to your list for ideas. My problem is that I have already exhausted my list and need to start a new one. And of coarse we can always use our friends for inspiration such as Marcy and Eileen who are forever coming up with great ideas! Thanks for your sweet words Jackie!

Diana, I have never read your daughters work but she must be amazing because you are amazing even with BB! Entertaing to the point I look forward to reading your posts! The pic is wonderful. I envision my self riding a bicycle down that road and then stopping at the end of it (where ever that is) and sitting in the soft grass drinking a cool bottle of water. BUT...living in the dessert...BRING ON THE HEAT! as long as I can retreat after I melt into the pavement into a cool pool of water or into my refrigerated house! lol I am a little weird I guess. hugs...

Hi Jerelene! We love pumpkins too. I grew them a couple of years in a row here. That was fun but my yard is so small and they took up so much space that I haven't done it in a few years. It's way cheaper then buying them! I'm sure I will grow them again in the future.

Hey Linda, You know I can find things that I love about all of the seasons but fall has always made me feel great, physically, spiritually and emotionally! It started when I was a young girl looking forward to the new school year and new school clothes every year.
You are right about my daughter Ginny, she is an exceptional writer. I just do it for fun. She does it for love!

Well Diana you could pick a word from the dictionary and most likely write something of interest about it...as for seasons...I would have to say summer is my LEAST favorite...Like Marcy I love the spring flowers and freshness of everything, fall has the cooler temps, the leaves falling, winter has fireplaces, snow, baking for the holidays, just that cozy feel,
and summer has Heat and Humidity!

Don't want to put any pressure on you...but am looking forward to your next post Diana...

Tomorrow is your doctor appt...Will be thinking of you!

Take care...
